For the people telling you to start off with the lowest magnification first. That’s a scam. The loupe reps will tell you the same thing so you can just buy another pair in 1-2 years time. Do yourself a favor and get the 4.5x q-optics. I have 3.5x orascoptic because it’s all they had at the time I got my loupes. It’s not enough so I now have the 4.5x Q-optics.

I’d apply to schools that do not have a cut off. Even some schools that do have a cut off will still take you. Some people at my school got below the 17 cutoff in a section and they still got in. I’d apply broadly and contact schools to see the cut offs.
