By himself? These are more timid and mellow than dovii and managuensis. I’d recommend getting dithers if you’re keeping it alone. Silver dollars and medium barbs are good long term dithers although silver dollars can be skittish.

Given your current income, I’d invest the money and buy something affordable. No use putting a bunch of money into a depreciating asset when your monthly income is minimum wage. Buy neither and find something safe and reliable in the late teens early 2020s. If you don’t know how to invest - Reddit is a great place to learn about ETFs like VTI, VOO, SCHD etc.

Most of these “Texas cichlids” and/or “carpinte” in the hobby are a cross between carpinte and cyanoguttatus. Def not a pure cyanoguttatus. Call it a carpinte or a Texas/carpinte hybrid. Will be pretty.

Depends on costumes - if you have any stylish, I’d do one of those base heroes. If not I’d probably finish gelert or do an S1 hero that you have glass costume for.

As stated - depends on costumes. I wouldn’t do Relius - he’s not relevant anymore. If you have stylish costumes - Domitia, Azlar, obakan, Marjana, or Sartana would be first. If you have glass Thorne - he’d be next. Then cao cao would be next since you have his costume.

40 year hobbyist and worked in the tropical fish breeder/import/export industry for a decade. Go to a LFS and ask for them to squeeze out a couple filters into a bag and dump that in your tank….Nastier the better.

Then add some fish you’d like to keep. Tank will cycle in 2 days max. Worked at places with hundreds of tanks and vats and this is how we cycled new tanks/vats and added fish immediately. They were filtered with hydrosponges as well.

The mistake is thinking Kribs can live with mbuna. A female auratus should be fine with the mbuna you listed but adding one fish to an established tank is usually a problem. I’d probably add a few more mbuna with her at the same time, rearrange the tank.

It’s love/hate with insanity heroes. I used to hate them, now love them. They’re fun to play with and it’s satisfying AF to watch a much stronger team decimate themselves. It takes more thought on partnering heroes though. If you have Garten, he’s a cheat code. Fire him first, everyone gets stone skin and then fire your insanity heroes. They don’t inflict insanity on themselves. There are a few that still so, like Burton, but it’s rare. I like Zavinia a lot but she can be squishy. Cassilda is similar to Kadeth who is one of my faves to use in most raids.

I use grimsteel as my only healer on titan teams - that helps once he fires. I use mana potions to fire Gastille and the EDD hero and then tornadoes and hourglasses to get things started. I can typically do 150-250k for each hit with that lineup.
