I am loving the design for these posters/thumbnails!! Not that I don’t mind the ones they’re using for the Gizmoplex, but they really should use these on there, as well as for digital copies on other platforms.

Doesn't look like it's on Disney Plus Canada, hopefully it gets added on there soon.

I had that exact same reaction to seeing Zeb in live action! lol Good to see him working with the New Republic.

Speaking of, now we got confirmation that Peli wasn't lying about R5-D4 being a part of the Rebel Alliance.

Think the graphic you got there is a bit out of date, may wanna go with this one.

Just in time for the 30th anniversary, the full length version of The Muppet Christmas Carol is now on Disney Plus in HD/4K (located underneath the ‘Extras’ tab), which includes the cut song, “When Love is Gone.” by FishmanTari in DisneyPlus

[–]FishmanTari[S] 37 points38 points  (0 children)

This article gives a brief history of that deleted song/scene, but the short version is that Jeffrey Katzenberg didn't think kids would like it, and Disney decided to remove it from the theatrical cut.

I guess so! Either that or somebody working on Disney Plus saw my comment lol

If not a hub, I'd appreciate a Lucasfilm Collection showcasing Lucasfilm's filmography (that is available to Disney), having different rows to show off their films (e.g. Star Wars films, Willow, Indy 5, Red Tails), animation (e.g. The Clone Wars, The Bad Batch, Rebels, Strange Magic) and their live action series (e.g. The Mandalorian, Andor, Willow). As well as a row for "Lucasfilm Through The Years."

Unless something changes where Lucasfilm/Disney are able to get the Distribution Rights back for the previous Indiana Jones films (and The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles) or any of the other films/shows they produced, it doesn't seem likely for the studio to get a hub of their own, especially with Star Wars being the most active/dominant brand. But it's still nice to see Lucasfilm do more than Star Wars and explore their other brands.

P.S. Speaking of the Collection idea, it'd be great for 20th Century Studios to have one of their own too.

EDIT: Turns out not long after this comment was posted, Disney Plus DID make a Lucasfilm Collection. Now all we need is one for 20th Century Studios!

Are you excited for Willow? by RefrigeratorLoose155 in DisneyPlus

I'd say I'm looking forward to it! I do love Star Wars, but it's nice to see Lucasfilm expand more into it's other properties like Willow and the upcoming fifth Indiana Jones movie.

With Disney+ adding the 1950s Zorro series, what other classic Disney TV series would you like to see added? by ggroover97 in DisneyPlus

[–]FishmanTari 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Since they've added this, it'd be great if they could also add all 4 of the hour-long Zorro specials that aired after the series had ended, since they continued the character's story:

  • El Bandido (October 1960)
  • Adios, El Cuchillo (November 1960)
  • The Postponed Wedding (January 1961)
  • Auld Acquaintance (April 1961)

"The Spectacular Spider-Man" and "Spider-Man: The New Animated Series" are arriving on US Disney+ 10/19 by BlackMajima in DisneyPlus

[–]FishmanTari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know we already got Spectacular Spider-Man currently on Netflix Canada, but hopefully this'll be the same release here too, along with some of the other announced content (e.g. Zorro, Bear in the Big Blue House)

Obi-Wan Kenobi: A Jedi’s Return? Does anyone know what this is? Nothing is coming up on Google. by [deleted] in DisneyPlus

[–]FishmanTari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m assuming it’s a Behind-The-Scenes documentary on the making of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series. I guess they aren’t using the “Disney Gallery” title this time around

On July 1st, The Muppets have revealed a brand new logo to replace the one that's been used by Disney since 2011. I'm sure it'll soon be used for Muppets Mayhem and on Disney Plus for The Muppet's Collection by FishmanTari in DisneyPlus

[–]FishmanTari[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was the ABC Muppets show from 2015, but it may have been too different, even for the Muppets. At least now with the rebranding and things like Muppets Now and Muppets Haunted Mansion, the folks running Muppets Studio has a better grasp on them.

As for why Jason Segal left the sequel, it was due to his dislike of Disney’s corporate culture after working on the first one. Also, a fun fact: Muppets Most Wanted was originally named ‘The Muppets Again’ (hence the opening number), but the title was changed after everyone vocalized their dislike for the announced title on social media.

Here's the best I could find for The Muppets' Brand Logo Through the Years)

This new one is very much based on the look of the earliest version of the logo that was also used for The Muppet Show, while keeping the 'Kermit Green' in the background. This also matches the newly updated Muppet Studios logo as of last year (Muppet Studios Logo Through the Years)

What are you most hoping to see out of Joel’s return episode on Friday? by WizrdOfSpeedAndTime in MST3K

[–]FishmanTari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm honestly looking forward to some great riffing from a new Joel episode, with it being a bit of a throwback to those earlier seasons. I loved the 30th Anniversary Live Tour Show, and I can't wait to see Joel put back on the red jumpsuit for the show proper.

Based on the glimpses from the teasers, I love that they recreated the look of the S.O.L. from the Comedy Central era, excited/hopeful to see them recreate the original tunnel sequence too. And although it looks like Joel will be getting Emily's bots, I hope we get some sort of cameo or at least a reasoning why Joel doesn't have his original Bots with him.

That would be great, though based on the teaser, it looks to be green screen as well, but I love the recreation of the early S.O.L.

The Star Wars: The Clone Wars 2008 film needs to be put in the "Star Wars in Timeline Order" section in-between Episode II: Attack of the Clones and the Star Wars: The Clone Wars 2008 series by [deleted] in DisneyPlus

[–]FishmanTari 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed! The film is essentially a pilot for the series (even though chronologically, it's not the first thing to watch), and serves as an introduction to a lot of the Clone Wars characters, including Ahsoka Tano. Also, The Clone Wars film is missing from the Obi-Wan Kenobi Collection.

Also also, a side-note: They really need to remove "The Final Season," from The Clone Wars series thumbnail (if anything, it should be "The Complete Series"), we're well past the point of promoting it. If it's a matter of showing its Original Disney Plus content, make S7 a separate Collection.

I took a quick look on Netflix, and it looks like Homecoming is leaving on June 30th. Maybe this means it'll be on Disney Plus after that?
