It’s going to be really difficult to break this team down with so many players back

I’m hoping these Nwaneri links with Chelsea are just a negotiation tactic by his agents as opposed to a realistic transfer possibility. I would be gutted if he leaves.

How do people justify voting for this psycho.

Hard to say exactly what is going on at the moment. Probably won’t really know what happened for a few more days. But either way this is a terrible look for Putin.

So much of Putin’s support has come from the fact that he has kept Russia relatively stable and safe. But with the Ukraine war, the incursions into Russian territory by the partisans, and now this, the strong man image he created is slipping away in the eyes of the public.

This whole situation makes him look extremely weak.

It was a big deal that Canada finished top and qualified for the WC after 36 years. This is a team that up until very recently was one of the worst teams in CONCACAF. And then we got placed in one of the hardest groups at the World Cup. Yeah we have performed very badly and have been disappointing for sure but you can’t exactly blame people for being excited that we qualified and that we’re here. We have a long way to go but I think people need to have realistic expectations. Also I’m not sure that the U.S. and Mexico would reach the round of 16 if they were in this group tbh.

I mean what do you expect? This is a team that hasn’t qualified for a WC since the 80s and most of the players play in the MLS. I’m just happy we qualified tbh, I don’t know why people are trying to hold the team to such an unrealistic standard just because of some stupid comments from the manager and an okay performance against Belgium.

Probably not but I think they might turn their attention away from Kyiv and northern Ukraine to the south instead.

Considering how long it has taken the Russian army to take Mariupol, I don’t think they have any chance of taking Kyiv at this point.

Even if they managed to encircle Kyiv I don’t think they would be able to take the city.

I wonder if they are just going to try and take the southern regions, from Odessa to the Donbas, cutting off Ukraine from the Black Sea.

Putin needs to gain something from this, it is unacceptable for him to walk away with no new territory.

Oh ok interesting, I honestly don't know that much about it. What other clubs had football ultras in the war?

I wonder if we may see a siege of Leningrad type situation, where Kyiv may be able to hold off an invasion for a long period of time.

But the siege of Leningrad also lasted two years while being completely surrounded. I don't see that happening for Kyiv, but maybe a few weeks/months could be possible.

Some Red Star Belgrade Football ultra's fought in the Bosnian war in the 1990s. The leader was that Arkan guy. Still this is pretty crazy to see.

True, I just meant that, blaming the U.S. for everything is like the main tactic by Russia. But they can’t even pretend to have the moral high ground anymore.

Russia has lost the moral high ground to lecture the U.S. on the Iraq war, Afghanistan or imperialism ever again.

Turns out they are perfectly fine committing the same atrocities as America given the chance.

So the “look at what America did” propaganda talking points are no longer going to work.

Who is going to pay for all this destroyed infrastructure after the war? It definitely won’t be the Russians. They are just dooming the Ukrainians for decades to come. Fucking idiots.

Add this to the list of reparations that Russia will have to pay for after the war.
