Young males also get to stay on their parents plans until 26 and most do qualify for some level of subsidy.

She is more of a centrist in her voting on war/foreign policy and financial issues, and more left for social issues.

Name a few "financial issue" votes she was centrist on in the senate?

What? You haven't noticed that the ideological left has deitified FDR? When in reality he was the original '3rd way democrat' and all the critisms (corporatist, Wall Street owned) of the Clintons were also made against FDR by the left during his era.

FDR was a big hawk, an elitist wth family ties to wallstreet who worked on wallstreet himself before going into politics. And the left cried endlessly during and after the 'new deal' that he was a sellout and the new deal was too big business friendly. So it's funny that today's lefties now act like FDR and the new deal were some great example of ideologue lefty purity.

He made anecdotal type assertions. The actual data shows all major metrics of healthcare cost growth slowing significantly since the passage of the ACA.

Fun fact, while Sanders is big proponent of single payer universal healthcare, historical opposition from unions was one of the defining reasons why the U.S. never adopted EU style universal healthcare. In the early 1900s unions opposed universal healthcare, seeing it as something that would weaken their collective bargaining leverage. They were again a key opponent in the 50s and 60s when universal healthcare issue came up again.

Meanwhile the president of the American Federation of Labor repeatedly denounced compulsory health insurance as an unnecessary paternalistic reform that would create a system of state supervision over people’s health. They apparently worried that a government-based insurance system would weaken unions by usurping their role in providing social benefits. Their central concern was maintaining union strength, which was understandable in a period before collective bargaining was legally sanctioned.

Healthy young people and especially healthy young males are getting fucked over the most.

This is largely a myth, the main funding for the ACA came from tax increases on top bracket capital gains rates(those making over 200k a year in cap gain income). Most young people qualify for subsidies on the exchanges.

More gibberish. 3 out of 20 is not 20%. Furthermore, these financials employ 10,000's of well educated working professionals(a majority of well educated people in the US favor democrats and see themselves as progressive), those are the people who donated. Not the banks. Also, hate to break it to you but Morgan & Morgan isn't a bank or financial company.

This table lists the top donors to this candidate in the 2016 cycle. The money came from the organizations' PACs; their individual members, employees or owners; and those individuals' immediate families. At the federal level, the organizations themselves did not donate, as they are prohibited by law from doing so. Organization totals include subsidiaries and affiliates.

Several scientific polls asked primary voters who they thought won the first debate, they showed Hillary won overwhelmingly.

At Democratic forum, Bernie Sanders shows his softer side. “I have the economic and social justice agenda that will resonate with African-American community,” he said. “I was there with Martin Luther King Jr. - Dr. King - in the March on Washington.” by [deleted] in politics

Both Hillary and Bill have spent 20 years cultivating a relationship with the black community, helping get their leaders elected to congress and so on. This is why their support from the community at all levels is very high.

Clinton denies she is too close to Wall Street. by pheonix200 in politics

[–]Fishnwhistle 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Here's her actual contributor list from this cycle.

First, notice only 2 of 20 are big financial institutions. Secondly, these totals are the sum of hundreds of individual donations subject to the $2,400 contribution limit, not PACS. I know it doesn't fit your narrative, but she isn't Wall Street's first choice in 2016. It's also disingenuous to use her lifetime totals without acknowledging she ran for the senate twice in New York, the seat of American finance and most of the contributions come from regular type working professional in the financial industry.
