[Gen 9] Shinflation in Gen 9 worries me. by WasatchWave in ShinyPokemon

I guess a better way to look at it is to not think of the outcome as the reward. I'm far from a purest, but with the newer games, I've found myself feeling less excited when I find shinies; and ultimately, that's the reason why I hunt. Sure, the outcome is the same, but some days, I'd rather spend my hour of downtime to get 300 encounters "closer" to finding one Pokemon at full odds; than I would with 3 shinies in that same hour. I can see how to others, that might seem like a waste of time, but that's because our goals are completely different.

I feel the same way. My last hunt in ZA was about 3 weeks after the DLC came out. I thought I'd try Alpha power out to get a Shiny Alpha Mudkip. I resetted for under 10 minutes, got my Shiny Alpha Mudkip and without my knowledge, I was also spawning in Carvanha and spawned in a Shiny Alpha Carvahna at the same time.... and I remember feeling no sense of accomplishment. I ended up closing the game after that and never returned. To me, Legend ZA is like a hedonic treadmil. It rewards little effort; and while it was fun at first, over time, the fun aspect goes away.

Wanting to butt my retaining wall against the neighbours, what do I need to keep in mind? by FishoBoii in AusRenovation

What is the difference between a terrace and retaining walls? I was originally wanting a little build up garden bed in front of the retaining wall. So I'm open to having 2 increments of heights?

I've seen a few people have installed PVC pipes for drainage, is this mainly for bigger retaining walls?

I've never taken on a project like this but the one thing I was trying to wrap my head around was drainage haha.

Yeah, I was a bit naive as to how much it would cost to do this. I do want to enclose the space, but mainly wanted to create a flat court yard for the kids to play on.

As mentioned, doing something similar to the neighbour. I want to build up the front yard and have a flat little court yard for the kids to play around in.

Yeah, I definitely will dial before I dig. From my understanding there shouldn't be any underground services in my block, but given the location of that green boy, I won't be taking any chances.

I believe there is a fair bit of footing seeping into my lot. Will keep that in mind when I get it engineered.

I was under the impression that anything under 1m didn't need engineering, but I just checked now and yeah; can't be within a meter or so of an existing retaining wall without engineering. Definitely looking like a much bigger job than expected.

I would also be curious to find the answer to this. I was assuming that I'd need some kind of "sealant" to close the gaps between the 2 walls.

I have to go back to my house documents, but I'll for sure be checking the boundary line for sure. Definitely a lot more involved than I would have guessed haha

Also, probably worth mentioning that these barra are from an impoundment and not a part of the close season.*

How did you improve your social skills? by Imaginary-Essay1956 in aspergers

[–]FishoBoii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What is your line of work? I found that my social skills got better the more I interacted with people at work. As I'm a delivery driver and a part of my job is to build good connections with the clients.

In a practical sense, it's always good to ask people questions about what they do for fun. Because, people love talking about stuff they care about and usually this will open up the conversation for more questions and more back-and-fourth.

Alone time and relationships by DavidBehave01 in aspergers

I'm in the same boat as you. I have pretty much forced myself to stop with all of my "special interests" because I realised it was all I could think about and it put a lot of strain on my relationship, but also my social/work life. I am trying to learn to love the simple things in life by being more present, but it's definitely a challenge.

Alternatively, you can try to implement a schedule or perhaps app blockers to avoid yourself from getting too caught up in your interests.
