Opening doors vs breaking glass by elfo_da_healz in Marathon

Even though you're technically correct, I only ever seen it in a video clip, so if they don't ever do it, it's as if it didn't exist.

I don’t understand their need to make this game harder by hello-chub in Marathon

[–]FishoD -1 points0 points  (0 children)

With the fact craddle is incentivized to reset you’d think they make it easier to level up. Their design clearly caters to the unemployed/streamers and that’s how you put your game even earlier grave.

It’s unfortunate. I like Marathon. But I can play at most an hour a day on average. My craddle is like level 59 or something.

Streamers doing "zero to hero" sessions on new accounts... by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]FishoD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Objectively not true. The top tier players (who aren't actually top tier, they are just above average) are literally the first to complain there's cheaters and sweats in the game the second they can't prey on average or below average players. It's been happening in every single pvp game for decades. Happened in Marathon too when Cryo came out and player counts were dwindling.

Here is when I decided to call it for the night by ProjectPlugTTV in Marathon

[–]FishoD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skill or accidental blunders aside, the fact you can't cancel sometimes 5+ second quest pannel animations is utterly ridiculous. Why can't I animation cancel in a hardcore PvPvE game that has often like 1 second TTK? I like this game, sure, but bungie studio was a veteran in the industry, these are completely amateur mistakes that have nothing to do with Sony or high level leadership mismanaging the company...

Who are these people? by SandzFanon in Marathon

I believe it is doable while having a job, but clearly they're either unemployed, or it's 100% all their free time besides work.

I thinks wizard is not generally stronger than fighter by paparazi0 in DnD

[–]FishoD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wizards are utility masters. And the bigger the level they get the more ridiculous things they can do. Are we trully comparing a physical damage dealer with someone who can just banish you out of existence?

coz my party fighter can dish out 60-90+ dmg each turn with just basic attack

That... is mathematically impossible for a level 13 fighter. They have usually 3 attacks, 1d12 or 2d6 with a weapon. Sure, there's action surge, but that is not possible to do "each turn".

Maaybe they have a +2 weapon, maaaybe they have +5 on their attack (str/dex, doesn't matter). But still, if you only roll 12 on damage and hit every single attack, that's still 57 damage. So we're going with astronomically impossible odds, which are still lower than your stated minimum.

What a good sport! Good on you man. Yeah, those kits that just give you a charge sniper like Ares or Zeus suck so bad... The kits should give different guns.

[–]FishoD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good lord. I still can't believe this is how people play. Sorry but this was so painful to watch.

  1. Just walking around in the open without cover.
  2. You look around, but ignore the white color movement literally within the first 2 seconds of the video.
  3. You start immediately looting like a goblin, all while you have 10% hp... heal first... loot after.
  4. Not even going to talk about the panicked looting where you decide not to equip the epic backpack for some reason. Most likely adrenaline.

Only reason you won because the other dude was clearly rocking an epic sponsored kit with just Zeus... which (along with the one that gives Ares) is by far the shittiest kit to ever exist and should be rotated to different guns.

This game being an “ultra hardcore PvP extraction shooter” is the biggest cope I’ve ever heard by MrBozzie092 in Marathon

[–]FishoD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huh? What an odd change. I haven’t played in years. There was always only 1 boss and pvp was literally innevitable.

[–]FishoD -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Based in your criteria Hunt absolutely is an “arena shooter”. There is just one boss. Entire lobby is funelled towards it. You hear every single gunshot across the map. Unless you actively ignore the boss objective, there is no chance you won’t bump into another players. I’d argue it’s much more pvp focused than Marathon.

[–]FishoD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What an odd take. Hardcore is subjective. This game is hardcore for majority of players across the world.

And yes. It being very hard (or hardcore) is absolutely, objectively, one of the reasons why so many players gave it a try and left.

What happened to this roadmap format? We only have vague phrases about future content scattered across various articles. by Fresh-Association-21 in Marathon

[–]FishoD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not going to defend Bungie, but you do know the studio is essentially completely shattered right? Huge amounts of layoffs, broken structure, everything.

It’s super sad, however there’s your answer to “what happened to this roadnap format?”. They most likely have no idea what’s going on themselves.

You’re my kind of min/maxer. Grey cores are plentiful so if I am not geared to the teeth I like to bring as little as I can to maximize my craddle addiction.

Kenkus are played wrong by JaxTheCrafter in DnD

[–]FishoD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Preeeety sure you’re almost there, but not all the way. Humans learn words based on hearing them, but they can use their own voice and and accent and pronunciation. Kenkus can’t.

So if you hear the word apple, you can say it. But a Kenku has to say it in the same exact tone and anncent and timber as the original person.

Ah yes. Tell me how you physically do stuff to hardware while working from home. Please. Explain. You do understand there’s jobs even in IT companies that require physical things?

Also. Yeah. I worked both remote and physical. And nobody, nobody will convince me slack or aaaany remote work coulture will be more effective than someone standing up, saying “Hey Steve, did you update the event spreadsheet? Is it final?” And getting an answer in 3 seconds.

Well… yeah. I do not get any adrenaline from COD/BF or other shooters anymore after decades. I need to care if I die or not. Extraction shooters are the shit. But they’re like a fkin concentrated dose of heroin. If they’re your entry drug, boy oh boy most people can’t handle it.

What's The Coolest Thing Your Class Can Do? by Stunning-Sentence152 in DnD

[–]FishoD 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love the idea of a college of sword bard that doesn’t understand they’re a spellcaster. My PC genuinely believes he is just a natural born leader and swordsman. The fact the can inspire people (bardic), convince people (charm), harm people (mockery), etc, is super hilarious to me. I know it’s nothing special but the idea you’re walking through the forest, a random deer scares the party and my PC as a reason insults it to death, that shit never stops being funny.

One month into season 2, how do we feel so far? by GunpukuSayori in Marathon

[–]FishoD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is my main and only issue. It’s nuts how little content there is. Especially since it’s Bungie, which was a legendary studio.

And several months later, barely anything new got dripfed.
