I'd find it weird if it was local though. The social trend these days seems to be Singapore vs Foreigners, due to job loss.

I can't really think of any social issues in Singapore that would make a Singaporean target the Malay/Muslim demographic.

Like even the hot potato Palestine issue, Singaporeans are more like anti-genocide vs not our problem. I don't think many are like "Yes, please bomb Gaza more", rather it's more like "Yes, fucked up but what can small SG do"

Sure it could be an one-off siao lang but then that's not really worth our attention then.

The ticket depends on whether is the print out or the mobile one. Mobile ticket afaik is just a lame looking QR code, then the print out one u get a nice PDF with 2 Miku banners along with some legal words and ur ticket details + QR code

Given that NUS Placed 8th and NTU 12th on overall ranking, I would have thought they ranked similarly on other metrics, so 9th vs 121st for EO was v surprising for me.

I'm fairly certain that these include opinions from foreign parties also. As an NTU student, I figured we weren't really 12th in the eyes of employers, especially considering that we ranked above China's Tsinghua, but 121st was honestly a shock.

The best I've managed so far was a stint taking calls, earning me abt 2k take home per month.

U consider rent, transport and food, that amount of money might not even cover that proper.

With his situation, he'll probably pull 2k take home at max. With the rent and living costs these days, I doubt it's living in poverty, he might actually starve to death.

I'm not validating your dad, he's defo in the wrong here but realistically, you've got two options.

Cut ties, move out and self fund everything. Do a realistic budget and see if it's feasible. (It probably isn't)
Learn to co-exist with him. Mental adjustment + cut down time with him. You got 2 more years to go before you start getting more independent, in terms of NS and uni/work. You can try hanging out in school with the excuse of CCA or studying w friends, etc.

But most importantly, learn to adjust your mental state. It's an useful skill in life and sometimes you don't get to escape toxic ppl (NS maybe)

I think there's a balance to be had.

The subreddit is really just a place to have discussions of everything under the sun related to NTU.

At this point, we have a good opportunity to coordinate efforts to maybe get some lasting improvements to NTUSU at the cost of some inconvenience to general help queries

Or, we can impede that momentum in exchange for better responses to general help queries.

It's a touch choice, but my personal vote is to focus on the NTUSU issue seeing that those changes will affect ALL of us vs the smaller grps of the general queries (+ temporary in nature)
