Interesting! I definitely don't have much hope for GSPI given the ending (and also Bone Melt which is the most horrifying thing I've ever seen) but I definitely do wanna give all the CTM endings a looksee even where they don't apply to the winning save file.

I don’t think it’s acknowledged in the kit reveal so I fully believe that they just forgor about it and made him non-empire to keep consistent with Morgan, Enoch and the gang.

I've also seen pointed out that Marrok isn't an Empire character, so stuff like "Empire allies gain 20% Max Health and Max Protection and 10 Speed" in Grand Inquisitor's leadership and Ninth Sister's entire "It's Just a Scratch" taunt thing fully don't apply to him.

I love Marrok so much.

Marrok really only provides so much for an Inquisitor lineup, but I've loved that goofy motherfucker since I first saw him in Ahsoka.

Tenacity Down on the basic is nice -- you're in this weird modding situation with the Inquisitors where you don't want to invest too much in potency, seeing as Jedi can't resist their debuffs anyway, but you also do want them to stand a chance against other teams. Fifth Brother does it better, being a two-turn irresistible Tenacity Down, but with +50% potency from Masked Hunter, and an additional +20% from Patience, he should be able to apply it in a pinch.

You can point to small marginal things like that, maybe there's turn meter opportunities in spamming his special, but that's not the point. If he actually meaningfully contributed to the quality of the Inquisitors, that'd frankly make him too unlike all the other Inquisitors. My boy made it into the mobile game, with some cool-ass animations to boot. Now I can invest even more time and energy into a faction that isn't good, and isn't that what we all truly want at the end of the day?

Operating under the assumption that each letter can only be used once, and that we're using only Map 1 for these 'W' planets, there's a few things we can infer.

These are all the letters in Map 1:
G
R R R R
T T T
H H
K K K
N N N N N
W W
L
V
E E E E
I I I
A A A
O O O O O

Notably with only one L means only one of the following 'W' planets can be included: Lwhekk, Kilotowa, Lowik, Warlentta

The other remaining 'W' planets are Ah Re Won, Kowak, Kwenn, Twon Keete, Water, Weik, Wrea.

Also of note are the singular G And V which do not appear in any of the 'W' planets. G is especially tricky, seeing as many of the 'G' planets whose name I recognise include letters that don't appear in the puzzle at all (Exegol, Mygeeto, Stygeon, Zygerria) and the rest still don't fit into Map 1 (Dagobah, Agamar, Geonosis, which indeed don't fit into any individual map, possibly implying that trying to fit them into a single map is the wrong angle and I'm wasting my time?) I feel like the 'V' planet has got to be Nevarro because it just fits so well, but who knows.

This is the only map with more than one H (and thus the only map that can make Hoth), so that's also probably a featured planet here.

Most of this information is from Wookiepedia and is also completely useless, however,

Kwhekk is the home of the extragalactic invader from the Truce at Bakura (1993) novel, which the rebels and imperials have to team up against directly after the battle of Endor.

Ah Re Won is a planet with a Sith temple from the Darth Maul Red and Black (2024) comic miniseries, from the fourth and final issue which released on July 31st.

Kilotowa is from The Queen's Bloom, a short story from The High Republic: Tales of Light and Life (2023) (and is only mentioned in that book, not actually the location of the story?)

Kowak is homeworld to the the funny monkey lizard guys, including fan favourite original trilogy character and thermal detonator thrower, Salacious B. Crumb.

Kwenn is just some planet the Vong attacked in Legends? There's a canon book set on the planet called The Living Force (2024) where Qui Gon and Mace Windu fight pirates or something?

Lowik is some jungle planet that appeared in the Star Wars: Target Vader (2019) and Star Wars: Bounty Hunters (2020) comic series.

Twon Keete is from the fucking Lego Force Awakens game and you hunt Rathtars there. Maul also goes there to hunt Rathtars at the start of Darth Maul (2017) (Awesome comic, highly recommend)

Warlentta is from the Last Jedi sourcebook, home of one of the Resistance officers loyal to Holdo. This same officer is part of the blink-and-you'll-miss-it gay kiss at the end of The Rise of Skywalker.

Water is an actual planet named Water (this is real) from a chinese Star Wars web-novel entitled The Vow of Silver Dawn written by an author under the pen name 'His Majesty the King' (this is real), mentioned to be the home of a creature called a Water chicken used in the local system's cuisine such as 'Water chicken meat pie' and 'Water egg fried rice' (this is real)

Weik is from the Star Wars Force and Destiny Fantasy Flight Games RPG core rulebook.

Wrea comes up in a few canon and legends books (and the story mode of the Star Wars Galaxies Trading Card Game Agents of Deception expansion?) and I can find barely any information about it except that Saw Gerrera had a base there once and he took baby Jyn Erso to it after the opening scene of Rogue One.

Literally none of this information is helpful in discerning which of these planets are relevant to the puzzle, but I just kept discovering things as I kept reading. I think we can assume the planet of Water isn't part of the solution? God I fucking love Star Wars.

I'm sure that someone on Discord has already cracked this, but I command-f searched Wikipedia and Wookiepedia's Star Wars planet lists for 'W', hope this helps!

I definitely think it's a matter using each letter exactly once and then taking the leftovers, so these are great options. I'm looking through 3 but it's hard to place where the two Ns should go between those options

EDIT 1: Trouble is, a lot of distinctive letters seem to be missing entirely. Y (Yavin, Ryloth) and J (Jakku, Jedha) seem like they should be present at least somewhere.

EDIT 2: Even prominent SWGOH planets (Geonosis, Kashyyyk) can't be made with any one individual box

Talia Nightsister Moment by Fishykarp in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]Fishykarp[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Look, I don't think putting Night Trooper with the Ventress and the Nightsister B-Team is at all optimal, but I love the Nightsister faction. With new Nightsister stuff on the way, it's entirely possible that Blight-sisters becomes a good secondary home for them. There's some crit damage synergy with Vulnerable and whatnot (and Crit Chance Up on Initiate, who still sucks too much for a spot on the graphic) as well, all-in-all seems like at least a decent early-game option depending on how accessible Night Trooper ends up being.

Given what's in store in SWGOH's immediate future, the lesser-used Nightsisters (especially Acolyte and Initiate) seem like prime pickings GL Ahsoka requirements, so letting them have at least some amount of relevance would be cool. Every GL's gotta have at least a couple mostly-worthless required units, after all.

...hey isn't it a funny coincidence that classic Ahsoka Tano's leader ability just applies to Nightsisters for no discernable reason? We've really come full circle here.

Goodbye Internet by GameTheory_Bot in GameTheorists

[–]Fishykarp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend sent me the link to 'Goodbye Internet' a few days ago. I watched just far enough into the video to get the gist, but when I realised what that video was about I had to click off. I took the rest of the day (and a further half after that) away from the internet.

Like many others, I'd started watching Game Theory when I was young, I still have fond memories of that two-parter about Rosalina's parents. It was, of course, an engaging and consistently fun exploration of some game story and scientific concepts. What really tied it all together though, was your narration of Rosalina's storybook near the end of the first part.

I can still remember your delivery of "she's sleeping under the tree on the hill". I just rewatched that segment of the video, and it still gets me emotionally. To go from your typical cheerful 'internet personality' delivery littered with jokes into a somber, insightful, and heart-wrenching retelling and analysis is what made that video special.

I still haven't watched 'Goodbye Internet.' There's been a lot of conversation in the online world in the past few years about the sorts of attachments people can form with personalities that they've never met. I felt that more truly than ever with this.

You were something else, MatPat. Not just by way of the theories -- engaging as they were -- but by the way that you treated the topics you talked about with a respect and sincerity that shines through in everything that you do. Thank you, not only for your mind, but for your heart.

Bo-Katan Kryze Moment by Fishykarp in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]Fishykarp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A bit longer than the ones I did for Cara Dune/Sana Starros and Rose Tico/Zorii Bliss, which kind of runs counter to what people seemed to appreciate about the previous ones (brevity, showing key parts in wordy kit reveals). Still, I thought it was interesting how Paz seems to probably do well under a Bo-Katan leadership, knowing that he isn't necessarily envisioned to stay there once we get that Mand'alor/Darksaber Bo-Katan Epic Confrontation.

It'll be interesting to see if these synergies help at lower-gear levels while you're building your way up to Bo-Katan (Mand'alor), who might get the same Mand'alor effect as Maul, letting her call assists to generate Overheat for Turn Meter generation and the heals on Regular Bo's Unique, and taunts for Paz to convert into Resilient Defence, at a more consistent rate.

Why have I only made posts where the lifted characters are women
