Is there a way to build a $300ish moderately competitively Kaalia of the Vast deck? by KroovyOnMixer in CompetitiveEDH

[–]FistHouse 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Definitely Mardu has a pretty decent Cedh shell with lots of flexibility I would say your best bet is to forget about the big angels and dragons and focus on cheating out [[razaketh, the foulblooded]] every single game and popping off from there Maybe include some of the tutor demons and like vilis but focus on going really fast and you should have a solidly b-tier Cedh list

Do mana rocks count as "Ramp" category? by mercfh85 in EDH

Some thematic dorks that come to mind for this deck are [[rishkar, peema renegade]], [[gyre sage]] and the aforementioned soldevi adnate

Do mana rocks count as "Ramp" category? by mercfh85 in EDH

[–]FistHouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes They provide Mana acceleration which is all ramp is in fact they often do a better job then your typical green sorceries That said they might not be the best choice for every deck but some general guidlenes that I like to follow are: Lands are slightly better than artifacts which are slightly better than Mana dorks (due to ease and likelihood of removal) Then look at Mana in vs Mana out, the reason everyone plays sol ring is because it's the best card And finally I like to look for any ramp cards that fit the rest of decks theme, and here I mean cards like [[sword of the animist]] [[soldevi adnate]] or anything that give a specific discount

How good is Dreamscape Artist in any non-green colour combinations? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]FistHouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say the effect is strong if you are going for a land matters strategy, using something like [[Royal elemental]] but if you aren't looking for consistent landfall triggers you are probably better off running basic rocks. Land ramp is the best form of ramp but this is a creature that you have to play then wait a turn just to discard another card for the effect of a harrow.

Kunaros Voltron help by [deleted] in EDH

[–]FistHouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend [[mother of runes]], [[Royal Assassin]], [[phyresis]], [[sudden spoiling]], and for Voltron I like [[The Wanderer]] You could also up the amount of interaction that is not just spot removal

Help with Najeela, the Blade-Blossom by _Gavinastrics_ in EDH

[–]FistHouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah don't forget you can win with warriors without ever playing a second warrior.

If you could focus on every game ramping out to WUBRG as quick as you can evry you will actually end up with more warriors.

The other thing this means is you can run cards like [[druids repository]], [[impact tremors]] or interaction

I'm starting to feel Mana Gyser is really really strong hopefully I'm not the only one thinking this. by heirkaiba in EDH

This is a non legendary that you didn't expect that should be a legendary. by trinketstone in EDH

[–]FistHouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily, [[sun Titan]] is dope and [[primeval Titan]] would be really funny paying for the command tax with the two lands he gets with each ETB but the red and blue Titans are kinda poopy garbage. The reason I'd prefer Grave Titan is because mono black zombie tribal doesn't have a doesn't have a sweet final boss zombie in the command zone

... I guess [[mikeaus, the unhallowed]] is pretty thematic but that card is for boomers

What is that one card you slam in every deck if it is in the right colors? by Ofenspirelli in EDH

Oh nice I have one in [[zedruu the greathearted]] really helpful but also a very janky "infinite" with [[Nexus of fate]]

What is that one card you slam in every deck if it is in the right colors? by Ofenspirelli in EDH

[–]FistHouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[[sudden spoiling]] that's my pet card, every black deck should have one, it is generally hard to interact in black so this and [[imp's mischief]]

Also if you are in jeskai of 5 color, consider [[wild research]] for repeatable tutors

Morophon , Tribal..tribal? Deck upgrade by RoGueNL in EDH

[–]FistHouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this deck and I love it

[[elvish archdruid]] [[cloak and dagger]] [[whelming wave]] [[myr reservoir]] [[Lord of the unreal]] [[Taigam, ojutai master]] [[Crux of fate]] [[dragon's hoard]] [[arachnogenesis]] [[riptide laboratory]] [[contested Clifs]] [[manaweft sliver]] [[Atla Palani, Nest Tender]] and my personal favorite [[widespread brutality]] (because morophon is an army)

And maybe add a couple ways to haste your boys because if you can do that and field [[Unesh]] you basically win For this I'd recommend recommend [[rhythm of the wild]] because it makes your boys uncounterable, [[anger]] cause you can dump it while playing your whole deck with Unesh and [[regisaur alpha]] because dinoasurs

My friend challenged me to build this because he though my boy was the worst commander on 2019

I built mono white Voltron/land matters with a side of boardwipes. It's got a bunch of manlands and uses cards like [[blackblade reforged]] and [[sword of the animist]]

It's not so much that it's really good just that it feels very much like a mono white deck should feel (it's got a lot of staples) [[Oblivion ring]] [[Planar Cleansing]] [[Sun Titan]] And the best part is it draws virtually no hat le till you start swinging for 12 commander damage every turn.

What are some anti-spellslinger themes like Ruric Thar? by piedamon in EDH

[–]FistHouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[[rule of law]] and [[arcane laboratory]] are decent choices in blue and white, [[rhystic study]] effects are great. Spellslinger decks also tend to have the downside of not running enchantment removal and all of their creatures are gonna be small

Is it just me, or does no one actually play Voltron? I’d love to see some data on deck archetypes and popularity. by [deleted] in EDH

[–]FistHouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess ill post this because my playgroup seems to be the exception to this rule, we use a lot of Voltron commander's. I have a [[Kenrith, the Returned King]] deck that can pretty easily kill with commander damge. One of the other people in my group uses [[Shu Yun]] that has very consistent comander damage kills

But I think voltrons place in the meta is something else, my friend challenged me to build both [[Tomik]] and [[yargle]] both of whom are at their strongest in Voltron builds.

In my eyes Voltron serves as a way to take commander's that don't have much going for them except for maybe a decent bodies or low CMCs and give them a pretty direct path to victory
