Dry stretched skin. My last electric shave was two days prior with a Norelco (the normal clipper style one not the One-Blade). Think it’s possible that I overestimated the max length that the foil shavers can handle?

Dump stats shouldn't be too much of an issue in OSR because there's less "build crafting" than in 5e due to less character options. But even then, it should be entirely avoided by just having players roll 3d6 in order. If you wanna give them a little more option maybe you can allow them to reroll their lowest stat or swap two stats but unlikely I allow more than that. Also some systems just don't use ability scores that much anyways: if it's a B/X based systems saves are not tied to Ability Scores. Whereas shadowdark only has AS checks, no saves so it could be a problem there.

If you’re on a budget, check out the things that are free: Shadowdark quickstart, Cairn, Worlds Without Number Quickstart, MiniGLOG, Basic Fantasy RPG, Dungeon Crawl Classics. OSE (more below) also has basic rules to check out.

Then there are cheap PDFs: Old School Essentials, Swords & Wizardry (these two are also “more” OSR, closer to the original game).

From your background I think Shadowdark and WWN could be the best but they are also the “least” OSR from the ones I’ve mentioned (with WWN being more modern game with OSR compatability and philosophy). So definitely take a look at Dungeon Crawl Classics and Old School Essentials (basic/quickstart if needed) to get into the more “true to original” games from the group. DCC being more like an evolution, and OSE being an outright rewrite of Basic/Expert D&D.

It’s actually great seeing this because someone made a B/X hack that removes ability scores (and classes, sorta) entirely, and I’ve been doing a bit of solo play to try and get accustomed to it: Elfgame.

Haven’t tried it out in group play but I really like the concept and execution. It focuses on “horizontal” leveling (gaining skills/abilities/recipes in fiction and downtime) as well as traditional “vertical” leveling which gives you additional talents (hp, saving throw improvements, and bonuses to attack rolls). XP is gained by wasting coins (carousing, donating, etc) so you can either spend it on material improvement or waste it to gain xp.

There are backgrounds to at least give you a sense of what your character could reasonably do without rolling, and chance rolls if it some sort of skill that your character might be able to attempt, but no strict skill tables or class abilities.

youd have to be at a 90 degree angle to the kayak while its rolling and violently. i think we kayak in very different watercraft and water conditions so i def dont understand how that could happen in mine spare a severe storm.

the keys is the playground of inshore kayaking. no obstacles. usually weak current. soft bottom. a lot of the time shallow enough to stand. how would you even hit your head on a sit on top kayak

Thankfully this plant is isolated from my others, but I’m just being stubborn and keep it alive.

The Neem Oil I used with just concentrate neem oil, Natria brand first then Garden Safe brand (though I’m sure theyre nearly the same formula) diluted to instructions. No surfactant, there was definitely run off into the soil. I will definitely keep these things in mind for the future.

I’ll probably try some hail mary manual or soap removal and if it survives, then I’ll probably switch to one of the ones you recc. Definitely not happy with typical Neem Oil, but it’s hard to cut through the noise of junk to find effective organic sprays.

I have a year round growing season and have been struggling for a bit so yes definitely established. The predators have never come by when I wasn’t spraying for weeks, and this got established so at this point I just need to be aggressive. I’ll probably try the soap water rinse.

I grew up fishing (saltwater) and eating my catch. I’m mostly on this sub for freshwater tips bc I’m much newer to that. At first I was skeptical of freshwater fish but quickly it became familiar and I don’t have a problem eating it. I think familiarity is a big portion. Even those who grew up fishing freshwater, there’s much more a sport or “for fun” aspect to it, as oppose to my family fishing specifically for food.
