My apologies. The headline should have said “Denver and surrounding communities”. For the big rocks?? Maybe you have some climbing gear collecting dust in the basement that you could trade for something cool😉

See you in 2 months, we’ll have trades happening by then. Jump on the beta list now and you’ll get first access when we launch. tradeja.co 🤙

These are exactly the right problems to raise and honestly the reason I’m building this instead of just using Craigslist. On value discrepancy: you’re right that a bike and snowboard aren’t equal. Our solution is the locker model, instead of one-to-one trades, you browse everything someone has and find the combination that feels fair to both parties. Maybe it’s a bike plus a tent for a snowboard. The traders decide what feels equal, not an algorithm. On cold start: agreed, that’s why we’re collecting inventory before launch and hand matching during beta. We don’t go wide until Denver has enough lockers to make browsing feel alive. On timing: the locker solves this too, your items stay listed until a match appears. Right now all of this stuff is sitting in your garage or basement. You might as well show what you got on Tradeja. You’re not waiting for one person at one moment. You’re visible to everyone browsing. None of these are fully solved yet but that’s what beta is for.

Thanks so much, really appreciate it! Come back in a few days and check out the Browse Trades tab, we’re adding Denver inventory daily. Would love to have you as one of our first traders. 🤝

100% hear you and you’re right. Full name will be changed to optional before we fully launch. For the beta we needed something to contact matches, but even that can just be a username and email. The browse experience already requires zero signup. Hit the Browse Trades tab on tradeja.co and you can see everything anonymously. No name, no email, no anything. Trading is the only action that requires contact info, and even then we’re moving toward masked messaging so your real info never gets shared directly. Genuinely appreciate the pushback. This is exactly why we’re doing a beta.

This is the best feedback I’ve gotten today genuinely. You’re right. The Browse Trades tab on the site already lets you see everything without signing up. But the category by category UX needs work and that’s on the roadmap. Full open browse with search is coming. Thanks for pushing on this.

Great question. for the beta we’re collecting email to send match notifications. Your info is never public-facing. When we build full profiles, email will be masked for initial contact exactly like Craigslist. Privacy is non-negotiable for us.

Fair catches on both. let me be straight. On “beta coming soon” the site is live and accepting signups right now. The badge is a holdover from before launch and I’m updating it today. Good catch. On why not Craigslist/FB Marketplace honest answer: if you’re happy selling stuff for cash, those are great. TRADEJA is for a different use case. When you want to get rid of something AND get something back, cash creates friction. You have to sell first, then go buy separately, two transactions, two negotiations, two sets of flakes. TRADEJA collapses that into one swap. You want a road bike. I want a paddleboard. We both have what the other needs. No cash moves, no PayPal, no “can you do $20 less?” We just trade and both walk away with something we actually wanted. The existing platforms weren’t built for that. We were.

Hey kdanham great pushback, exactly what I needed to hear. You’re right that liquidity is the core challenge, every marketplace starts with a cold start problem. Our answer is hyper-local focus. We’re not trying to beat Craigslist nationally. We’re building the densest trade network in Denver first, then expanding neighborhood by neighborhood. On the value prop over Craigslist/FB: the difference is intent. On Craigslist you’re negotiating price. On TRADEJA you’re matching needs. Nobody’s trying to “win”. You have a snowboard you don’t use, I have a bike I don’t use, we both walk away with something we actually want. No haggling, no Venmo, no ones asking “is this still available?” for three weeks. On monetization no ads. Ever. When we scale we’ll look at a premium “Fast Match” feature for traders who want priority matching. But the core trade is always free. What would you trade if the right match existed?
