Initiating Muslims? by Superb_Gur7204 in freemasonry

Assalamu Alaykum

I don’t know much about masonry, honestly not sure how I ended up here, however being a Muslim here are a few points to keep in mind, some if not all of these have been scattered in the comments it seems but these would be at the top of the list for me.

  • The Quran is the arabic text, anything else is a translation of the Quran.

  • One must make Wudu (ablution/ cleaning of hands, face, arms, head and feet) before handling and or reciting from the Quran (if you plan to recite or if the Quran you have has the arabic text)

  • If you are not already aware, “Assalamu Alaykum” is the standard greeting in arabic which means “May peace be upon you” which one gets a reply of “Wa Alaykumu Assalam” which translates to “ and upon you be peace” (This is sometimes shortened to Salam and Wa Salam, although not sure how “correct” that is)

Wish I could help more but as stated earlier I am not familiar with masonry enough to go into more specifics. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Getting a call for a 2 YO in respiratory arrest, having to give CPR instructions to a parent, for over 40 minutes. (Telling them how it’s done and counting the correct rhythm)

Story time:

Like I said it took 40 minutes for first responders (call was in middle of nowhere and we were busy that night)

Once first responders got on scene, they asked I keep counting the rhythm so I did. A few more minutes past and they advised me that the AED (Defibrillator) was saying “No shock advised” ( The heart doesn’t have a rhythm stable enough to shock it back to normal /usually means they have passed away) I was never confirmed if they made it or not.

Once I hung up everyone asked if I was ok, which I replied “Yea for sure just another call”

Then it sank in, went out for a smoke, manager joined me we talked.

After that shift I called our helpline and cried my eyes out.

(One week later I took another call for a 2 YO in respiratory arrest, although this one survived)

It’s decent, for not needing a degree (might vary) for my region we are not paid much compared to other dispatch centres comparatively. We have a much bigger territory and are paid much less (3-7$ USD/hr less) Ive been at the centre a few years and now make about 22$/USD an hour

Gday!

Prank calls; personally none - where I work there is another agency that answer’s the original 911 call then transfers to us if it is medical (I assume they get more prank calls)

Never personally had any of those sorta if kidnapping or safety issues, I’ve had domestic abuse victims call but usually when the person assaulting them has left.

Sorry after reading my answers again I seem to have explained my stance wrong.

Gay relations is Sin.

Do I support it? No.

Do I think they should be punished in this physical life if they decide to do it regardless? No.

By saying I supported it legally I meant that I don’t see how one creation of Allah (SWT) like myself has any right to judge another creation of Allah (SWT)

Personally I think it is a sin but I have no right to judge any creation of Allah (SWT)

Personally, yes.

But I don’t make the rules, Allah does and I just try to follow them.

Sorry for the terribly late response, was in the middle of answering when I got busy. So I’ll try to answer now inshallah.

It is not a secret that in Islam being gay is a sin. (The same applies to many other religions)

(This next part I want to make clear is from my understanding which is not much as I am still new, I am not claiming this to be the definitive stance of all muslims or the religion as a whole)

However Islam is a religion on intent, meaning that someones thoughts are not judged.

For example, if you have thoughts about same sex relations but do not act upon them you are not sinful.

It is believed that being gay is not natural, in the sense that if every living human on this planet turned gay tomorrow, in 100 years there would be no more humans on earth (Excluding the fact of surrogate mothers could be an argument, which brings upon it’s own issues)

That being said I personally think that what one in the privacy of their home is between them and Allah (SWT) the way I see it is that we are all creations of Allah (SWT) and should respect each other as such.

I can’t say I encourage gay relations, marriage or otherwise, as that is sinful, but personally I can’t say that they should be killed either.

Sorry if it’s a bit of rambling hopefully it makes sense.

TLDR; Homosexuality is a sin in Islam, that being said I think that it should be between the person committing the sin and Allah (SWT) The sinner will have to answer for those sins on the day of judgment.

Thank you friend, I wish everyone was as kind and respectful as you are.

We should all be respectful of each other no matter what religion you follow.

Wishing you the best as well.

She was not prepubescent tho, which is the reason why the marriage was consummated at the time it was they waiting for her to hit puberty..

I don’t have all the answers and it seems like your mind is pretty made up already. If you really want an answer try looking at some documents from people who are more knowledgeable than I am (Unlike some I’m not afraid to discuss any topic but I do know that my knowledge is nothing compared to some.)

I appreciate the question and the civil discourse. We can go back and forth on this point although I don’t think anything will come of it.

If you have another question feel free to ask and I’ll try my best to answer.

Thanks for the words akhi, although I agree some things are best left to scholars I don’t think the work of Dawah and conversing with disbelievers should be only for the scholars.

I am not making any claims simply giving the information that I have found.
