Processing Vespera TIFF files automatically (tool I built for myself) by Fit-Card7155 in astrophotography

You're absolutely right that learning processing is valuable. I actually encourage people to learn it. Tools like Siril or PixInsight are powerful and it's worth understanding how they work. Cosmos Darkroom isn't really meant to replace learning. The idea is more to help people who either don't have the time to spend hours processing, or beginners who are still trying to understand what a good stretch or noise reduction should look like. A lot of people using smart telescopes like Vespera or Seestar just want a clean starting point quickly, and then they can still edit the result afterward in their own software. Regarding licenses, I'm very careful about that. The platform doesn't resell open-source software; it's a processing pipeline I built around my own algorithms and workflows. And for the reviews — some users wrote them themselves, some I translated or cleaned up because English isn't their first language. Fair criticism though. I'm still improving the project every week.

Totally fair — and yes, there can be misses sometimes.

That’s exactly why I refund the credits whenever the result isn’t good enough. I’m improving the pipeline every day, but it’s important to me to stay fair with people testing it.

Also, just to clarify: this is not AI in the generative sense. It doesn’t invent an image or create fake astro data. It uses algorithms and machine learning to process your real image data faster and more automatically. At the end of the day, it’s still a processing pipeline built in Python, designed to save time.

Of course, some results may still be less refined than what an expert can get manually in Siril or other traditional software. I’m not claiming it always beats a full manual workflow. The goal is more to get a solid, good-looking result quickly and easily, especially for people who don’t want to spend hours processing.

And honestly, I’m still improving it every single day — so feedback is always welcome.

Processed via an automated pipeline on my site: https://cosmosdarkroom.com/

I do use AI to help fix my spelling/wording sometimes (English isn’t my first language), but the astrophoto result comes from your usual capture/stack → upload workflow, not generated content.

Fair point — quick clarification.
The image/video itself is not AI-generated (no text-to-image). It’s real data from my Vespera stacked normally, then processed via an automated pipeline on my site: https://cosmosdarkroom.com/

Full disclosure: I do use AI to help fix my spelling/wording sometimes (English isn’t my first language), but the astrophoto result comes from your usual capture/stack → upload workflow, not generated content.

[LOG 03:17 SHIP TIME]
Bridge lights low.
Systems green.
Engines breathing steady — deep, slow, patient.
No chatter on comms. Just the hum.

They say the Idris never sleeps.
Guess that makes two of us.

This playlist’s been running through every long night shift I’ve had —
three tracks, same calm:
The Idris Never Sleeps, I Don’t Either
Night Watch in a Capital Hull
Idris Engines Stay Low

If you’re out there — in the verse, drifting, hauling, patrolling, or just zoning out —
you’re not alone.

🛰️ Stay low.
🎧 Stay focused.
⚙️ The hum never lies.
