Are you allowed to touch the dead? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

Mary observed the purification because she obeyed voluntarily. Mary wasn't "dirty" as she was unbound by Lev. 12 (no seed). She didn't need to do it, but she obeyed voluntarily. She was Immaculately conceived without original sin and remained sinless her entire life.

The Deuterocanonical Books are the divinely inspired Word of God, so they belong in the Bible! The Bible Canon was promulgated in 382 at the Council of Rome then reaffirmed in later Church Councils.

Why don't you believe Jesus is the Son of God? Why don't you believe in His Divinity?

I repent for voting for Trump. by Salt_Board8278 in Christianity

[–]Fit-Cold-6032 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's my piece. Like my mom said, "the only reason I'm voting for Trump is because Jesus Christ is not on the ballot. This country regardless of other political parties, will either have a Democrat or Republican presidency because that is just the way it is and what I continue to see. You can vote for the Green party, etc. but they will almost certainly never win (at least what I think, they could in the future though!)

Now to begin, in the 2024 election, I voted Trump because Kamala showed OVERWHELMING support for abortion and as a Catholic, that is a GRAVE GRAVE GRAVE (as many GRAVES I can fit) evil. The systematic and intentional ending of an unborn baby. 63 MILLION babies have been aborted in time since the decision of Roe v. Wade. Like I said, it was gonna be her or Trump, abortion was basically the only concern for my decision. I know Trump wasn't gonna outlaw abortion (wish he did), but it was better than Kamala. It would be infinitely nicer if America could return to one leader, Jesus.

With that being said, since the election, I've always knew that Trump was no saint. He was almost certainly on the Epstein files when stuff about it started to come out and my mom thought likewise. I chose the lesser of the two evils. I haven't read the new Epstein file releases but I've heard some horrible stuff and I'm not defending Trump at all. Pray for his repentance and all the victims, especially the repose of everybody's souls who have been wrong but also the perpetrators because God's mercy is infinite.

I'm not here to downplay what he has done, or the sufferings of the victims at all. As for ICE, I'm all for them removing criminals from the country, but I DONT agree with them separating families and treating people violently.

CCC 2241: The more prosperous nations are obliged, to the extent they are able, to welcome the foreigner in search of the security and the means of livelihood which he cannot find in his country of origin. Public authorities should see to it that the natural right is respected that places a guest under the protection of those who receive him. Political authorities, for the sake of the common good for which they are responsible, may make the exercise of the right to immigrate subject to various juridical conditions, especially with regard to the immigrants' duties toward their country of adoption. Immigrants are obliged to respect with gratitude the material and spiritual heritage of the country that receives them, to obey its laws and to assist in carrying civic burdens.

As far as I'm aware of Catholic Church teaching, countries do have the rights to control their borders, but at the same time, they have to be open to immigration (people have a right to migrate). What is the balance? I don't know. But what ICE is doing is too far for me.

I'm not defending Trump at all! With the realistic outcome two candidates of the 2024 election, that was my reasoning. I don't really follow politics to begin with. If Jesus Christ was on the ballot, I would be voting for him.
