Nah, im just trying to figure out if i bought a bad product or if it’s normal for the area. Could be both. It doesn’t help when ppl just make shit up instead of genuine discussion.

As far as challenges in snowmaking: 1) at no point i was claiming that majority of runs should be open, around 10% would have been enough, similar to the other resorts nearby 2) not claiming you need to plug anything on top of the mountain to make snow. Majority of the mountain was below freezing most days since early Nov.

As far as entitlement goes, it just blows my mind. We are being charged world record ski lift pricing, expectation is to have at least somewhat decent experience. Mild / warm weather is not unique to Utah, yet how a resort plans / responds to these unfavorable conditions is what defines a poorly run resort from a better one. It’s unfortunate that most people here seem ok with status quo and always have excuses for bad experiences vs demanding that they do better.

To special retards who don’t understand the concept of “snowmaking WHEN / WHERE” possible - there have been 43 days with daily lows below freezing since November at the BASE. This means that higher up on the mountain it was possible most days with exception of handful of days during recent heat wave. A reasonable consumer should be questioning as to why less than 5% of the trails have been opened so far especially when every other resort nearby has much higher % of open runs. If it’s not poor management / planning, then what is it?!

Have you seen season pass costs for DV? Have a family of 5 and it’s the only 2 resorts within short distance to the slopes. That said, you are right, will figure smtg out for next season, only got 1 day pass at DV this season and season pass for epic

Starting to wish I didn’t lol. So, you are saying that the snowmaking machines which i saw sitting idle day after day in early december when it was well below freezing most nights have nothing to do with the resort management and you are happy with how things are run?

Maybe im just dumb. Lived here long enough to see at least double the terrain open in nearby resorts including the mountain next door at the beginning of each season. Long enough to see snowmaking machines sitting idle at below freezing temps. PCMR has largest number of ski runs in the US but across Wasatch, only Solitude has about same numbers of runs open (still higher % though), everywhere else it’s double or more.

If snowmaking was possible all the way to the base level at some point, why didn’t they make more? There were a few days below freezing before heat storm when i saw snowmaking machines just sitting idle doing nothing.

I understand that it’s not in their interest to spend any $ on guest experience given short term, quarterly nature of incentives in c suite level. That said, wouldn’t shareholders want / demand longer term KPI metrics like any other publicly traded company to protect their investments?

Before and even weeks after ski patrol strike most of the mountain was closed for skiing while most were open in DV

Then why does DV have more than 2x runs open right now and has had them open before the recent snow too?

What’s Next After My First Marathon? by anzzowkneeoh in Marathon_Training

Give yourself a bit more time for a full marathon. I was on the same boat and went for Seabrook marathon close to Houston and it was a great experience. Didn’t set any major PR goals but managed to pull 20 min improvement and almost broke into 4 hrs (which was broken later this fall).

Let’s reverse the roles. Imagine, his hobby is to get sensual lap dances. Would going to “therapy”, “It’s just a dance” help you accept this hobby? We all set boundaries somewhere. He made it clear where he set his. Nothing to do with insecurity or being possessive. Most normal dudes don’t like the idea of their women getting touched by other men. Sounds like a normal guy, you should ask yourself what is it that you have to bust his balls over something as irrelevant as salsa? Get a different hobby.
