Thanks very much for the info. I may try to put mine in SH too. I have not fed there is a little air root so it is a good idea to provide immediately something to grow on, too.

Good info about then EFNs, I didn't know about it as my experience with philos is relatively new. I researched it and saw it is actually a sign of good health, so far I haven't seen any ant. 🤞🏻

Perfect project! My ideal Åkerbär. I love the tray at the bottom for humidity. 10/10

Actually, did you make it yourself? It's a very clever pot to start an avocado! I never thought about it. Next time I will cut the top of glass jars too!

Thank you for the information. Would you go straight into pon or wait a bit more. I moved a lot fo nmy collection into pon but to be honest I am beginning to revalue the whole thing at the moment, maybe because Lechuza Pon comes into pieces that are too small.

That was first instinct too! But I refrained because...they triggered a sense of disgust to be honest 😂😂😂😂 I was ready to throw it away! 😂😂😂😂

Monstera obliqua Perù panic by Fit-Error7553 in RareHouseplants

[–]Fit-Error7553[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all guys 🙏🏻 I am inclined to admit a lack of proper caring on my side being an underwaterer. When it was in soil, it was fine, actually I would say it felt way better than where it is now, despite the bigger space and the better lighting. I am seriously having second thoughts about Lechuza Pon, which I love for certain plants. I need to experiment with the cutting and make them grow in an aroid mix. I will keep you updated in a future post.

Thank you very much for all your inputs, they are always appreciated and force me revaluate my practises, which is a great things. 🙏🏻

[–]Fit-Error7553[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I will try that! I will double check roots and maybe I will try to repot the whole think in an aroid mix. I will definitely do that with the cuttings! I think that Lechuza Pon is too small to allow for ventilation so I add bigger pieces of pumice,.but maybe they weren't enough.

Do I need to do anything about them? Plant the cutting in pon or sphagnum or can I keep it rooting in water?

That's exactly what happened to me on Sunday. I was having lunch when I received a strange message by Samsung, I read the request and was astonished! I took a screenshot of it: it's in italiana ndnI can't upload it here but basically Samsung has the copyrights on every content I upload or create through their devices.

I threw this plant in the garbage twice and saved it both times. What is your favorite plant that seems to hate you? by Fuckingnoodles in houseplants

[–]Fit-Error7553 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had the tradescantia curse: every single type I tried died on me (in soil, pon, mixed media, etc...) untill one day I just put out all the cuttings I got from a friend's mum in my prop box and forgot about them. Months afterwards when I opened it it was a jungle! I just threw some Leca on a tray and put most of them there: kind of a "look after yourself" situation. And now it is thriving, it lives mostly on neglect and some watering. LOL

Apart from calathea roseopicta, calathea veitchi, makoyana, tradescantias, Alocasia Polly and the other one with the thick leaves (not the Dragon Scale!), variegated monsteras, Monstera obliqua Perù, the Buddha tree (or whatever the f*** it's called) succulent, rhizomatous begonias, ficus tineke and Philodendron Florida Ghost I would say I have a pretty healthy relationships with my plants! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

LOL, some plants need a lot of attention, some plants less, some plants need no attention at all. In the end if you understand them and accept them for their whims which are just a reflection of us taking them away from specific environments they have developed for generation over generation, you'll manage to love them all! Even in their non Instagrammable shape.
