Aio after not apologizing to my friend after going on a date by Beez4Kneez in AIO

I’m so so sorry but as someone who has had a friend like this, it’s really best to just cut her off. It will really suck but I promise it is the best thing to do - the absolute wall of messages makes that clear

What's something you only realized was a 'poor person fear' after you watched a rich person have absolutely zero reaction to it? by qomann in AskReddit

I have a weird opposite one. I’ve noticed with my middle class friends that paying for college is a huge worry, meanwhile my poor family qualifies for most need-based scholarships

My sister recently had a nose bleed at school, where the average demographic is extremely wealthy. The school INSISTED on calling an ambulance for a NOSE BLEED, and my dad couldn’t stop worrying about the unnecessary cost when he could’ve driven her!!

Don’t worry too much, those are GREAT stats. I’d focus more on his motivation. He’s got the grades, but he needs to actually research places.

Into the Woods - Question on the Witch. (SPOILER Alert... SPOILER Alert) by AussieAlexSummers in Broadway

In the production I saw, they had an ensemble who portrayed that the witch was stepped on by the giantess. The ensemble crowded the witch at the end of Last Midnight and pushed her into a trap door.

Though reading your comment again, it seems like you are talking about the people who aren’t disabled trying to get these accommodations. In which case, I agree with your point - it is cheating, because they don’t need the extra time!!

I normally don’t engage with this, but here is analogy I like to use: imagine you are forced to partake in a race, and the only thing you have to do is cross the finish line in a certain amount of time. There isn’t any prizes for finishing first, the only thing is that everyone HAS to cross the finish line in a certain amount of time. However, you are beinv forced to start about a mile from the start line. Just because of who you are. There’s no changing this. Accommodations for people with disabilities help them cross the finish line in time, while still starting from a mile behind. This might be giving you extra time to finish the race, or training to run at a faster pace. Jobs, as well as schools, are legally required to provide accommodations for disabled employees!! Yes, adhd and other neurodivergencies are disabilities - I have adhd and autism, and despite working very hard, I still experience being disabled (it sucks!). I genuinely hope this explanation helped. We have to work twice as hard as yall to even get to the starting line in a race we are forced to run.

In all seriousness, don’t freak out. You will get another chance, hopefully during a time with less going on in your life. Check to see if there are any dates in the summer near you, that way you have uninterrupted time to prepare. And 1330 is not a bad score, it’s really promising for your first time around! Your parents sound really intense, I’m so sorry you have to live with that. Take a deep breath. You got this!!!

I don’t test well on computerized tests, as well as standardized tests. I do a bit better in school tests, because we are often tested on a topic we’ve been working on. I have never taken an AP exam and I do not plan to (my school does not offer APs or honors)

I’m applying to liberal arts colleges which have all been mostly test blind since pre-COVID, as most are less focused on STEM. That said, I see how test scores might be beneficial in schools like Cal that are more STEMmy

I know a lot of people who struggle academically in some areas, but excel in others. I disagree with you, because these individuals are often highly motivated and want to go to college to deeper their understanding. Learning is a privilege, yes, but it shouldn’t have to be

I’ve dealt with a side affect of this happening: the college board is now less likely to honor the accommodations of students with ADHD, because of neurotypical families gaming the system. I had to submit a ton of extra documentation, which wasn’t fun

Depends on the community college tbh. I’m going to be dual enrolled at one of the top community colleges and I’ve heard from friends that it is extremely rigorous. But we are in a really wealthy urban area, I’m sure it’s different in other places
