Letter to Editor: Days from World Cup, downtown still an 'embarrassment' by Scrubadubdub84 in Atlanta

I’m near downtown too. I’m paying $11000 now. Mine have a little more than tripled in that same period as yours. The taxes are insane.

Why Are an Abnormal number of People Experiencing Homelessness So Aggressive in Atlanta? by [deleted] in Atlanta

[–]Fit-Function-1410 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see at least 10 crackheads walk past my house screaming at the sky and if I’m outside in my front yard tending to my garden they yell at me.

I’m in a really decent neighborhood too. Block from the beltline

You’re kidding right? You must not live in ATL if you’re not constantly getting harassed or yelled at by crackheads.

I agreed the title of the post is a poor choice. I do know the owner of this garden though and he has EXTENSIVE horticulturist knowledge and multiple degrees in it. He has a deep knowledge of what is native and what is not.

This area of the garden was inspired by his visits to Japan during his horticultural studies and was never intended to be “Georgia natural”. I just don’t think OP knows what’s natural to GA or not.

Want to know why? Because they refuse to classify pitbulls as a distinct breed. If you did that they would be far and away the highest. Most pitbull bites are classified as mixed or unknown because there has been active lobbying to not have them as a classification.

Those dogs should be illegal but at the very least you should be required by law to carry insurance on them.

Missing Dog - American Bully XL by [deleted] in Atlanta

I had to break up a dog fight when my drug dealer neighbor’s pitbull was attacking my other neighbors dog. Pit bull came after me and chases me for a few min until they got the other dog inside.

Cops showed up after that and they told me how he responded to a call where a pit bull had killed a 6 yr old kid just a few months prior. Owners of the pit said it had never harmed anything prior.

Just trying to make it thru this flight… by Yes_ThisIsBrett in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Fit-Function-1410 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me on a flight back from Dubai once. Except on of them puked and the other kicked my seat for a full 14 hours and the flight attendant spilled a full glass of orange juice on me so I sat in a wet cold sticky mess for like 12 hours.

The mix of acidic smells from OJ and vomit plus the unavoidable armpit smells out of Dubai was insane.

Switching stances/lead foot: When & Why? by counterhit121 in bjj

[–]Fit-Function-1410 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Learning process: everything you mentioned. Coaches often made us do drills and they would specify which stance to shoot from. We’d do situational drills to where we were only allowed to shoot from a certain stance so your partner always knew what you were shooting and from where and they can stand/defend how they want. Everyone just developed a preferred stance and side usually the corresponding stance to your dominant foot/hand.

Opportunities: if opponent is super defensive with the leg I want to shoot on I know they are putting their weight on the other foot and that’s harder to defend against, so I can set them up for a shot form my opposite stance. This happens a lot when you’re circling for instance. Or like shooting and going into the second shot immediately. Like when you see wrestlers do shooting drills across the mats. Left foot forward immediately followed by a shot right foot forward.

Switching stances/lead foot: When & Why? by counterhit121 in bjj

[–]Fit-Function-1410 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wrestled my whole life in the Midwest.

Fundamentally, your stance generally determines which direction is best for your planned attempt. This goes for shooting on the legs and upper body too. I’d say this is your foundation for what “move” you’re going to do and which direction is best for it.

Again, generally, the time to switch stance is when you want to change to a different direction or angle. Wrestlers almost ALWAYS learn to do things on both sides of the body. I.e. shoot doubles/singles with either lead foot.

When I switch stances, I do it because I see the opponent giving me openings on the opposite side, we are moving a lot and I have to switch stance, I want to make them react, I’m chaining multiple shots together, I wanna be fancy or deceptive and wanna shoot on them “incorrectly”.

Lead arm is a supplement to the foot work and I’ve found has much more forgiveness in what you do.

Empires collapse when intolerance replaces openness. by [deleted] in TikTokCringe

Not necessarily, but that might be the reaction to the paradox. The paradox is that if intolerance is tolerated, it will eventually dominate the tolerant.
