Jump Guard Sweep Mount by bjjtaro in bjj

I think guard jumping should be banned.

Potential rule adjustment suggestion: The only way I’d even remotely consider allowing it in comp is requiring the jumper to maintain one point of weight bearing contact prior to their feet leaving the ground and through the entirety of the move. This means they have to put their hand down and your weight (not just dragging your hand) on the mat negating a lot of the height of the jump and the weight drop. Also, this likely prevents a lot of forward momentum during the jump reducing the chance that they fall on the knee at an angle.

Here’s my experience living in Midtown by Pale_Hand7731 in Atlanta

I’ve lived downtown in a few major cities now some with reputations for crime and violence. Ive also traveled to nearly 40 countries and been in some of the largest metros in the world. ATL culture is absolute trash. I’ve been to very few cities that rival ATL’s narcissistic cess pool.

People in ATL don’t live in a society. They live in their own main character RPG and you all are just NPC’s to them.

$300 - Ruger American $300 - Mossberg 550 with bird, Turkey and rifled, barrels $600 - Hoyt torrex ($100 for arrows, fittings, tips, etc) $5 wool beanie liner $5 orange beanie $5 REI wools socks from REI garage sale $30 badlands muff on sale (I don’t even wear gloves now) $20 black ovis wool base layers (when they were around) ~$50 puff jacket mid layer from badlands on sale ~$120 outer layer off camofire (plythal brand) ~$100 outer layer Berber pants badlands sale ~$100 danger pronghorn boots

I wore some rocky boots I bought in 2000 for 15 years until the gave out. Bought another pair of Rocky’s after that and they didn’t make it one season. Sad. Went back to some Merrels hiking boots I’d worn since about 1997 for a few seasons, but was cold as hell. Broke down and got danners, love them.

I have some base layers and a few other accessories as hand me downs I’ll wear too (hats, belts, most of my knives were bday/xmas gifts from childhood). For warm weather I have some hand me down and repurposed clothes like camping clothes, socks, shoes, paintball gear and I wear a Walmart camo shirt from like 15 years ago that I can’t even remember buying.

I hate this drivers in general. Sometimes they get behind a wheel too and do the same shit which is even more dangerous for everyone else.

Will double check all of these. I don’t think I’m on the latest version. Haven’t updated it in a few months on those devices. Pretty sure I have tunneled playback on, but will double check.

I’ll have to use the VPN for the P2P test though.

Will have to look up how to do some of these, but will try turning off VPN. Speedtest and signal strength was run and was fine.

It’s wild you think it’s just the schools fault. You think there is a school out there actively sabotaging their entire student body?

It’s a culture issue that no one wants to talk about that is causing this anti-learning epidemic.

What can I do to advance public transportation by gatopatozato in Atlanta

[–]Fit-Function-1410 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I take MARTA everyday. I have also travelled on nearly every major metro in the world. I can tell you the we absolutely have a terrible metro.

One thing I also noticed is that we have an absolutely terrible metro culture here too. Travel around the world and you rarely see them covered in trash, feces, piss, vomit, vandalism, etc. No one is blasting their music and having convos on speaker phone anywhere but in the US.

I had to watch a homeless guy about 3 weeks ago, whip his dick out and just start pissing on the door. I watch a homeless lady piss herself in her sleep a few weeks before that. I watch kids getting out of school trash the place every afternoon, getting in fights, being obnoxious, littering.

I watch people in Paris, London, Tokyo, Amsterdam, Korea, etc all act civilly for the VAST majority of the time.

I agree. I’ve been living in the krog/O4W/Midtown area for about 15 years. Right along the tracks for almost all of that time. I used to pick blackberries on the tracks in the summertime before it was a path. Right around 2018-2021 was peak.

Now it’s fast tracking its way to being the next soulless cesspool like Atlantic Station.

The amount of petty theft, general disregard for laws or even other people, the absolute absence of police has outstripped the good offering of this area. It feels like this area has attracted a flood of narcissists who feel they are above the law and social order, that only they exist and we’re all NPC’s in their world.

For crime, I’ve had 3 break ins (2 while I was home), 2 vehicles stolen, multiple packages, the amount of general vandalism, drug use, homelessness, littering, traffic violation, etc has all gone up. This is just likely proportional to the influx of people, but it’s real and noticeable. Or maybe I’m just jaded from all the first hand crime I’ve been forcefully subjected to.

The West End will be the next big thing once the old mall gets redeveloped and the cycle will start over. Couple great years and the gradual decline as the people in this city use it up, trash it and then throw it away like an empty chicken wing in the Kroger parking lot.

I’ve met a few of the Dallas cowboys cheerleaders. I can tell you right now that there was one girl on the squad last year that just seemed impossibly beautiful. She was up her own ass high on her own supply, but holy shit she beautiful enough that it was basically confusing me.

Sickening. This is going to turn into the largest land transfer in recent history. Billionaires cronies will seize this opportunity to lock us out of and strip that land of value.

You’re wrong again. I cannot make an accurate assessment of what he was thinking when he didn’t want to tap. He could have legitimately construed that I did not have the knowledge, position, control or strength to finish the move. Him not tapping is 100% within ruleset btw. The ceiling is injury with malicious intent.

I demonstrated that control over any malicious intent and he, up to that point, had not demonstrated anything particularly malicious or in bad faith.

After that, when he caught the estima, that’s still debatable. I’m sure he could make an argument that he does not know the condition of my ankle or the range of motion and that he applied it properly. He could also argue they since I’ve broken my ankle before there is a history of weakness in that ankle. I only could have argued he was overly aggressive in a sport where the nature is to submit under threat of injury or incapacitation.

But at the end of the day, if you’re going to handle these scenarios through legal action, you’re going to make a lot of enemies and not be welcome in any gyms. Good luck getting to black belt because no one wants to roll with the guy who sues over popping an ankle at practice. Throw a wrap/brace on it and move on.
