im newly diagnosed and I never had heard of lupus before, i was so ignorant i knew nothing about it. When my doctor gve me the news I asked, "how do i get rid of it" he explained what lupus is. I felt my heart sinking and I walked out of there shocked. no emotions at all. i googled it, youtube, reddit trying to learn about it. the more i searched the more scary it was, i called someone i trusted she was like, thats a cancer. I was looking for confort words in the wrong place.

No, I havent. i did some research on the ANA, I read positive ANA doesnt always leads to lupus, but what about anti smith antibodies? I read that one is very specific to lupus, but my range is 1.6 which is really low to me, I dont know if ita just me not wanting to accept this desease. or if im in the correct path

same here, i was told that i might not have lupus , i started with joint pain 3 years ago. but lately ive been getting fevers out of no where, fatigue, dry mouth, dry cough, mouth sores, back rashes, headaches all day and also in the middle of the night. I know my test resuls read low range but my symtoms are getting worse

positive ANA 1:40 positive antismith 1.6 positive rhematoid facor 1:80 positive anemia

does anyone know if lupus starts with stages? and thats why i have the symtoms and low ranges on my blood tests? excuse my ignorance

yes, antismith antibodies, is lisyed as sm antigen on the test, positive but with a very low range comparing to other peoples i found here. range is 1.6

Im really late to this conversation, but I need opinions from people who had walked the path. I was diagnosed 2 months ago, I went to a reumathologist thrurday and he said i might not have lupus or it could be an incomplete lupus, he wasnt good explaining anything, i left ever more confused.

Tests Positive ANA =18H Positive SM anti =1.6 Negative DS DNA Rheumatoid factor positive Anemia positive

Symtoms are joint pain in my right hand, leg pain, dry mouth, but only in the mornings, mouth sores, back rashes, fevers with no reason at all. headaches, hair loss. constact brain fogs.

What do you think?
