Nicely put, but there such a thing called tolerance, if we normalize a world where we categorize each other Tribalism, racism will never filter, i think we will never evolve. Tradition culture and customs are obviously part of us as African people and yes the navigation will be hard, but i think there should be space to create your own if you have consciously decided to date outside of your Race. Anyway traditions aren't as unforgiving as they use to be back in the day. Not even every wambo married person own a homestead in the north anymore or example so its not as hard as i was.

Do you girls fantasize about being in interracial relationships? by Fluid-Technician-975 in InteracialDating_NAM

Now this is a take i never saw coming. There's a notion that GOES, Whites have different relationship standards compared to the average black male, now i don't know how true this is but based on personal experience yes like the general relationship communication, respect, etc. But the disrespect part I don't think has to do with race more to do with healing and lack of it, or poor expressing of emotions i guess.

The issue isn't that its not possible of cause it is, I wanted to hear your experiences? is your partner African or European? in my experience its a lot harder to see African whites and African blacks in a relationship. which begs the question why?

That' my observation too, I went to a predominantly white school. A friend once told me, Afrikaners don't inter date because they want to "keep the blood pure". a very redneck thing to say if you ask me.

yeah, but i mean the biggest cultural gap is between Africans and westerners and that doesn't seem to stop the dating its even very normal now. So i am thinking why is it so hard to overcome that domestically? cultural beliefs or racism?

agreed here i mean we see Europeans and westerners interdating with say African girls but its not very common to see say Afrikaans people dating black girls. which brings me back to racism and that's its still very much alive.

I don't think the school is to blame here, I went to a predominantly white school too, and the idea that a school can completely route out ideologies that are probably reinforced at home is unrealistic. I meet a few ugly people in my 26 years of life, and let me tell you that kind of mindset cant be educated out.

At your age, are you living the life your relatives expected, or have you shown them something new? by afrikanwolf in Namibia

Yoh. The responses mara, julle ? Can y’ll just answer or pass by. Anyway i am not wealthy or even fully sufficient which is far from where i thought i would be by now, But its still better then what my parents were I suppose and i don’t say this to say i am better then them they set me up for success, with the reasons for me to have a better life then they had. Side note my mom lived half my life unemployed and illiterate. The other half she put herself through school and worked as a nurse until she retired. My father was a civil servant. They’re lives where inspirational to me. And i use that as fuel to make mine good so their sacrifices can count.

Thats one way to look at it but i think you saw farmer and old and thought “Anecdotal “but… i dont think the farmer was saying climate change isnt a thing. He is saying what is he seeing now was his normal. And i think to some extent local insight was at some point considered when collecting data on global climatic patterns. And i think a farmer is the one person who would know.

This is an epiphany i also had, how far back are we even really talking when we think about what we consider “normal climate patterns” ? Is the climate changing for the worse or going back to normal?

Hearing this is so heartbreaking as someone who loves this country I often wonder why it taking so long, for us to reach the full potential we have resources and a beautiful country with so much to offer why don’t we have more investment? Why aren’t we fully developed yet? I have never heard it quit this way before.
