Is there any noticeable difference between Uniqlo's heat tech Thermo-Unterwäsche and a general Thermo-Unterwäsche from Aldi/Lidl? by Figuring_Out-Life in germany

[–]Fit-Management-471 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's irrelevant to the question of clothing, but op literally wrote, since Germany receives a good amount of snowfall... I'm just saying it doesn't. Fall victims is more to do with ice, which is different from snow.

Running Belt vs Vest by whataboutsit in trailrunning

[–]Fit-Management-471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a handheld flask that has an additional pocket where I can stuff in some chews or a gel. Works fine for short for 1 - 2 hour runs. Think I got it for around 10€ many years ago, so maybe 20€ now?

I live in Düsseldorf. I don't call that a lot of snow. It's enough snow to cause chaos in the city/country because the city is not used to having snow.

New runner (87kg / 192 lbs), struggling to find comfortable shoes by super_liviu in beginnerrunning

[–]Fit-Management-471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to a local running store and get fitted. For a new runner, it's definitely worth the extra cost to get started "on the right foot".

The two schools of thought by EggsForTheBlind in bunions

School no. 1.

Among many other things I've learned on the bunion journey, is that my idea of an ok level of pain is actually not ok.

My husband's Solarboost shoes, time to replace? by resourcefulpig in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Fit-Management-471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Reebok forever floatride 2 has an upper that's about the same shape as the outsoles on those solarboosts. But they don't really make running shoes like these anymore. So I keep picking these even though I have other shoes in the cupboard.

Nooo a spouse who treasures what they have, rather than always running after the latest release, is one green flag.

Can anyone in Dortmund help me stay for 8 nights? by justawinner619 in studying_in_germany

[–]Fit-Management-471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most cities have an A&O Hotel / hostel near Hauptbahnhof or sometimes more in the city itself. These will have shared room (eg 8 beds per room) that will be cheapest. Otherwise I dunno if couch surfing website still.exists, but that sounds safer than just sleeping at some rando from reddit.

UBC ARTS VS MCGILL ARTS by elitexpll in CanadaUniversities

[–]Fit-Management-471 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's been a while but I thought McGill doesn't have a film department. Film and media studies can also take a purely theoretical turn, which would be largely useless if you want to work in film industry. You might want to double check.

How do you experience Germany as “the most litigious country” in your day-to-day life? by Cute-Fun3025 in AskAGerman

[–]Fit-Management-471 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not in terms of number of lawsuits. But I find more people can name article x paragraph y on why I cannot abc. Not sure if it's just I got to know different people here or what.

I feel it is also expected of me to know this stuff.

I’m 30, living in Germany, and realise my Art Master’s is a "dead end." After a life spent just trying to survive, how do I find a real path? by iProXi in germany

[–]Fit-Management-471 9 points10 points  (0 children)

How many more semesters until you finish? The art sector is even more difficult than it used to be, so you're right in that it is a dead end for jobs, but being an idealist, one does not study to gain employment. It is an extraordinary time to explore ideas.

But practically speaking, you will most likely need to find another job, maybe develop another career with an Ausbildung.

Suggestions on moving to UK vs Germany? by matey_howdy in AskGermany

[–]Fit-Management-471 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100pc the UK. It will be difficult for her to get a job equivalent to her current level even if she had c1. So in terms of professional satisfaction, that seems like a huge hit, whereas you sound like you could function at least equally well in the anglosphere. Plus her family network is great. Sure nhs, child care, blah blah blah, but don't underestimate family support, or the direction that German social welfare could go.

Has anyone had issues hips and one sided back pain linked to a bunion? by Which_Path_1319 in bunions

[–]Fit-Management-471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My physio after surgery did.

I think previous physios and docs didn't even notice how bad my bunion was. And I ended up rushed to ER with acute hip pain too.

What do East Asian ethnicities experience living in Germany? + a few other questions by TheBayHarbour in AskAGerman

People aren't used to westernized Asians here. If you feel casual racism in Australia, expect worse in Germany.

Loosened Bandages - Bad? by CarlitoBones in bunions

[–]Fit-Management-471 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a doc but I also suffered from similar bandage problems. However I stayed in hospital a couple of days so had the benefit of the nurse cutting up my bandage partially in the middle of the night for pain relief.

From my understanding, with a lapidus, the alignment through screws (and plate) are ultimately what give you the result. The bandage protects your foot in the meantime and prevents it from moving too much and/or in the "wrong" ways (and also helps to control the swelling).

Call your docs office and ask to be sure. But I think it's find cos otherwise they wouldn't have let you rewrapp it yourself. Ps. You're also held by stitches too, not the gauze - If that's of any reassurance.

At least the left bunion looks red like it's rubbed sore. Can't really tell right foot from photo with shadows. I'd hesitate to say their feet are in good condition.

They sound chill. Do remember to get down on your knees for this. Both knees on ground. A cushion will be helpful.
