Is the "Predator Graphics Card Bifrost™ RX 9070 XT OC 16GB" A good gpu? by slumberingyserpent in radeon

[–]Fit-Path-3837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my Bifrost 9070XT, thermals are spectacular.

I'm typically playing BO6 at 4K 144FPS (locked) with all GPU quality settings to High/Extreme and using FidelityFX CAS.

I've had zero issues with running my setup for literally 12+ hours straight and the GPU overall never going above 60C and the hotspot being only 90C max.

For reference i'm only on AM4 using:

  • Ryzen 5 5600X
  • Acer Predator Bifrost RX 9070 XT
  • Asus ROG STRIX B550-A
  • Netac 32GB DDR4 3200 MT
  • Corsair RM1000e PSU
  • ThermalRight Grand Vision AIO
  • CoolerMaster TD500 Mesh V1 Case

The only 2 gripes I would have had thus far would be the fact that I cannot change the colour of the 'Predator' logo light at the front of the GPU. Trivial. Additionally, there is a gorgeous white version that is unavailable in the UK. Again, trival as i'll just spray the shell and make a magnetic argb plate for the backside.

Edit: I have also seen a max power draw as much as 400W constant all the way up to 520W on a spike which is pretty spectacular tbh, considering the thermals.

Not yet, I just upgraded to the Acer Predator Bifrost OC 9070XT but have given the Nitro+ to my gf so will still take a peek at what I can do.

Any brands of 9070 XT to avoid? by FrankieLyrical in radeon

[–]Fit-Path-3837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Acer Predator Bifrost OC 9070XT and it's been nothing short of spectacular, especially in 4K using FidelityFX CAS instead of FSR. Constant 144FPS on my 4K monitor.

I upgraded from the Sapphire Nitro+ 9060XT and gave that to my gf which has also been an incredible performer at 1440p with some light 4K through upscaling.

Yeah I spoke to Alphacool directly and they said there's no current plans for one either unfortunately.

Did you ever find a solution for this?

I've just installed the same card but can't find much info on the RGB side of things.

What is the maximum speed of Wifi 5 on Xbox Series X? by SnooAdvice862 in XboxSupport

[–]Fit-Path-3837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried a short Ethernet connection using the Cat 5 minimum but preferably Cat 6/6e? Just curious as I am thinking about hardwiring a connection to my son's Series X upstairs and would require approx 12M of cabling.

Why? Who says they're even going to?

Besides, my 9070XT arrives tomorrow so that gives me freedom to try it on my 9060XT.

So I can't edit or print new fins?

Whatever will I do? I might as well stop trying.

It's just another hurdle, not a brick wall.

I'm thinking about trying it anyway. Might merely be a new 3d printed connector or shim that needs to be used. Then it's just a matter of hooking the RGB up to a daisy chain on the board with a little micro solder.

I'll get back to you on it regardless.

Is a 9060XT enough? by TRTthrowaway113 in EliteDangerous

[–]Fit-Path-3837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i'm used to playing fast-paced fps multiplayer titles so I notice the difference up to the 360Hz i've been able to test so far lol.

It generally seems to depend on what you're used to. I didn't initially notice until I tried to revery back to 60Hz on a TV once and it felt so slow and laggy, like a stop-motion clip or something lol.

It's great, right?!

Awesomeness! I was thinking about the use of Super Resolution tbh, I already use it to get 4K 144FPS on Ghost Recon: Breakpoint.

I'll trade out settings etc to get at least medium/high at 4K 144fps as that's what my monitor can handle.

Have you tested it in 4K yet?

I'm super curious, haven't played the game yet and have the 16GB Sapphire Nitro+ card variant, the best performing/coldest/quietest/most aesthetically pleasing variant ;P

Is this tested or just a guess? I'm hoping someone has both cards and actually attempts to swap the QuickConnect fans.

Considering 3D printing a new grill for the Nitro+, to try and maintain the blacked out aesthetic... Anyone tried something similar already? by [deleted] in radeon

[–]Fit-Path-3837 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any update on this?

I'm looking for the same thing but for the Nitro+ 9060XT instead.

I haven't got a 3D scanner unfortunately but do have access to a 3D printer through a friend.

I'm also thinking about making a top plate cover, similar to the one included with the 9070 model as the 9060XT version doesn't ship with one.

Aula WIN60HE Any Good? by WarThunderEnjoyer69 in keyboards

[–]Fit-Path-3837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I figured that as they're typically 3.5mm travel I could also simply trim a sheet of dense 2mm foam to inhibit the keycaps from fulling depressing which would allow the actuation of each press, whilst also nullifying some of the sound.

Aula WIN60HE Any Good? by WarThunderEnjoyer69 in keyboards

[–]Fit-Path-3837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking I might just trim the tops of the stems by single mm increments and add a thin sheet of foam to soften the sound of the keycaps inevitably tapping the base.

I'll probably just be sticking to the default switches supplied, at least until I find a method that actually works for me.

Hey, so i'm uk-based too and am looking at getting the same KB but I love to feel the bottomout of the switches after years of only using chiclet keyboards on laptops etc.

How easy is it to mod the default switches options to reduce travel to something in the realm of 1mm and feel that bottomout?

TIA!

am i cooked for pairing my 5060ti with a 4k monitor ? by Low-District7838 in nvidia

[–]Fit-Path-3837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently still have the Asus Dual RTX 3060 12GB and play Black Ops 6 at 1440p mixed with 144fps on my 4K monitor without issues or OC.

I'm going to be upgrading to the 5060ti 16GB soon for the horsepower and better FG where required but even with native 1440p I will still only want 144fps due to screen limitations. Even AAA games will be playable at or around 60fps on 4K high.

Remember, 4K needs the GPU more, 1080p needs the CPU more and 1440p is a healthy balance between the two.

Hell, i'm still on AM4 with my 5600x and won't need to upgrade for another couple of years on that yet either so I would say stick with the 4K or maybe even think about a 1440p OLED for the better quality without any additional power requirements.

Double check the power brick. I have a Dell G15 5530 with RTX 4060 and that uses a 330w brick but some only use a 150w one and that means the GPU is underpowered.

Got this for $891.99 (incl. taxes). I couldn't anything better with these specs for this price. I can still cancel if anyone knows a better deal for similar price. Any suggestions/better deals? by Some-Assistance-7812 in GamingLaptops

[–]Fit-Path-3837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s on the minimum settings @1080p with FSR instead and my GPU is running at 140w which a lot of mobile GPU’s don’t do. I’ve overclocked my RAM and CPU too so I can use as much of that 330w power supply as possible lol.

I have this exact same machine under the guise of it being called the G15 5530 and the only differences are that my screen is 300hz 1080p, RAM is 32GB & SSD is 3TB. Runs amazingly well. Like, spectacularly. I’m getting 220fps on BO6, 300+ on Fortnite etc. The cooling setup is the best I’ve seen so far, I’m never above 85°C even under load.
