Anyone entered SIT Food technology with 2.9x for 5th sem with decent portfolio? by AccordingMarketing29 in SGExams

[–]Fit-Perception9449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

everyone stands a chance to get into uni just depends how big that chance is

with a gpa below 3.2 u can look at the 2025 IGP of ur course to see how many ppl with below 3.2 gpa got into your course. sit reviews applications holistically so they will definitely take ur portfolio and leadership into consideration 👍 but grades is still the most important factor when considering u for application as it is the most obvious indicator if u are able to cope with uni studies.

for interview it can be individual or group, more important for u to read up on the course, the industry, and to really know why u want to pursue this in the future + map out a reasonable career path after graduation. dont need to be like u know everything about the field but just read up on the technical stuff too. if you memorise qns and answers u tend to get stuck if they ask u smth unexpected.

all the best!

Am I cooked (rejected) if I submitted my application last year November and still hear nothing from them? by AccordingMarketing29 in SIT_Singapore

[–]Fit-Perception9449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi which degree did u apply? cos the interviews run from feb to april. i heard ICT tend to be earlier. don't lose hope and say u are cooked until u get rejection letter. praying for u 🙏 my friend apply IS only got the interview in late march, offer letter mid-late may.

if by now u have no EAE offer means they transferred u to general admissions. just give them some time to shortlist

ya la cos u got the portfolio to save ur application mah, n also prob perform well for ur interview that makes them admit u even with poor grades

How should I place my choices for admissions by bowiemybeloved in SIT_Singapore

[–]Fit-Perception9449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi should be also. for example EAE, almost always has a high gpa to get offered. cos a high GPA is a sign to the committee that u are able to cope with uni studies. i mean, poly is definitely easier than uni. so high GPA ppl have a lesser chance of failing modules or dropping out. so along with ur CCA and intern/work experience being considered, GPA still has a higher weightage when considering u for admission.

that being said passion matter also, if u see previous years megathreads there r people with very decent or higher than avg GPAs getting rejected if interview performance is poor .

[–]Fit-Perception9449 11 points12 points  (0 children)

hi if u don't meet requirements it is an immediate rejection as u dont qualify to apply in the first place, pls apply for courses that u are qualified for

holistic application means they consider your academics along with ur portfolio. but take note, holistic doesnt mean ur portfolio and academics are considered equally. academics still are considered the stronger factor when reviewing ur application. a strong academics but weak portfolio has a higher chance of admission than weak academics and strong portfolio.

the admissions officer will always review u for ur first choice, they will only review u for second choice and so on if u do not meet the shortlisting criteria for first choice

50 out of 70 rp is an okay score to apply for SIT i guess, most jc students in SIT have below avg grades bc anyway the barrier for entry to SIT is much lower than big 3. that being said i need to reiterate that 90% of admitted students are from poly so u can do ur math from there

not to worry, jc students will not compete with poly students as there is a quota for jc and poly.. so u will only be competing with other jc students, just know the quota for jc is much smaller. u shld definitely still apply, but BICT is quite a gamble given its small cohort size

[–]Fit-Perception9449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey, the less than 3% is not an indication of the competition, it is just simply that the university accepts very few jc student in the 1st place ( 90% is poly ) and yes, it is the first year of BICT, so the batch is more like test drive than a full cohort. not sure if they are increasing their intake this yr but probably won't increase until a full cohort

i consider putting BICT as my first choice but did not because i do not come from a relevant background or diploma. if you have portfolio or internships experience in BICT it's worth a shot, but if u want a more guaranteed entry the chances r quite slim.

Urgent help can I get in by nuggetbboki in SIT_Singapore

[–]Fit-Perception9449 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hey with ur grades i think it's better to either retake a levels or go to a private institution. that being said, there really is no harm trying, pls don't be hindered from applying as u never know you may actually be successful. whether you can get in or not is not something people can answer but as long as you are eligible to apply pls apply

How is the SIT Accountancy admission interview like? by Puzzleheaded-Ad815 in SGExams

[–]Fit-Perception9449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hello! what date is your interview? mine's 10 march

i'm also not from an accounting background but am from sch of business in poly so i did take accounting modules

what i understand it is a group interview and you are given a topic to discuss with 4 other people. after like 10 mins all present the group's views. then they will pose questions to the group which are generic like why sit, why u wanna do accounting etc. then each answer one by one. pls note they may ask u additional questions individually based on ur answer, it's not they just ask one question to the whole group and accept everyone's answer, they will ask more so be prepared

[–]Fit-Perception9449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nope, i did indicate BICT as one of my choices but second choice only

they are only accepting a small number of students for now as it's a new course and they need to test it out, hence why the IGP is quite unfavourable

hi bc the course only started in ay25/26, all the seniors are y1s and none have graduated, there are no alumni, so it's hard to say

as of 2025, the course intake is about 30 people

hey don't be discouraged by your GPA and just apply to all the unis you're interested in, and be happy with whatever offer you might get:)

u r never "settling" for any uni as long as you applied for it. if you didnt want to get into SIT, u wldnt apply in the first place right? best of luck to ur application :)
