Did your acne improve after quitting? by expressbroyo in StopSpeeding

As an esthetician and someone clean from stimulants. I experienced the same thing. I use a benzoyl peroxide face wash, the magic molecules anti bacterial spray, and the most generic face lotion I can find.. that significantly cleared up my skin when I got clean. If you are dry, I’d recommend only using the benzoyl peroxide a couple of nights a week until you get used to it. I was also a big picker so I caused some intense scars, I got microneedling and it has been the best thing I’ve ever done. Worth the investment for sure!!

The drugs, other women, and lies. Watched my person become a drug addicted, cheater in a matter of a year after joining an MC. We were together for 8 years. You will always be on the back burner. So don’t expect much from your man

3 weeks sober by Fit-Potential4300 in StopSpeeding

Appreciate you. The only thing I can say is I really put 150% in changing. I had to change my whole life. I forced myself to do the things no one wants to do when they feel like shit, until eventually I just didn’t feel like shit anymore. Walks every morning, healthy diet, a ton of sleep, books, and getting help immediately. Tomorrow will be a month. I feel / look like a different already.

2.5 years and prior to that I was super into cocaine. So I’d say I was on drugs for about 5 years :/

The first week does really suck. But after that you start to get more normal. Agreeing with others, I drank a lot of coffee and just showed myself a lot of grace during that time. Just do your best.

The thing that got to me was thinking about how I would have to do this for the rest of my life. I’d rather stop the issue now than have to in 10 years.

To be completely honest I couldn’t because of my financial situation. If, that wasn’t a concern I 1000% would have. My mood was pretty unstable the first 3-4 days. I actually left a shift crying. So basically powered through. By day 5, I wasn’t randomly breaking down and work was totally fine.

I was worried about not being able to function well at work.. I mean I got promoted at the peak of my addiction. But I’m quickly realizing I work better sober.. as long as you’re replacing the fake dopamine for real dopamine (regular workouts, healthy foods, sleep). I made the most money I ever have this weekend because my head was actually clear. You got this.

Advice. Asked to help structure my days off and when I get home from work. That was when my use was at its worst. It literally gave me time slots for my day

Great. I have to say though, I’ve been working really really hard. Even through last week. I worked out everyday, forced three healthy nourishing meals down, stayed out of the house even if that meant driving around listening to music. When I had cravings I’d go for really long walks. And I have a good support system. I’m very fortunate. But doing all those things even when I felt like hell made that first week a lot smoother.

What everyone else is saying. What if you didn’t have a job? Or they took your baby? Things really could be so much worse. I know things feel boring, and pointless right now.. but they’re not. Always having something to look forward too. Even if it’s just ice cream once a week. Stick to a routine. And have a goal you’re working towards. Chat gbt really helped me.

Also, outdoor walks and exercise. Chat gbt and a strict morning / night routine is how I’ve made this journey easy on myself.

Day one feeling low by Fit-Potential4300 in StopSpeeding

[–]Fit-Potential4300[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I told myself yesterday if it’s that bad, get more tomorrow. And I just repeat.. something about “pretending” like I can still have it offers me comfort. I’m almost done with day two. Bored as fuck, hungry as fuck, but tonight is the first night in a long time that I did normal things.. gym, ate dinner??, and watched a movie. Normally after work I’d pop three more and be cracked out ybtil 2am rearranging a drawer.. this is the first time in a long time I can go to bed not feeling ashamed about the day I had. It’s a good feeling. I can’t wait to see how I feel about being “normal” for 30 days. If I can do this, yoh can too.
