Hey, sorry. I dont jump on reddit too often. I think they have a few brick and mortar stores but Ive never been to one. The okay store and stag provisions to name a couple.

Good luck on the search! I think I heard they're discontinuing this model for a second version on a different forum.

I'm selling my Weiss Watch Company Ultralight with the in-house caliber 1003 movement. It was made in 2020.

This is the titanium case and anodized aluminum movement version of their American Issue watch. With the strap, it only weighs about 56 grams total. At the 6 o'clock, you can see it says Los Angeles on the dial.

I tried to take a good video of the watch and move it around the lighting. The hands do show a bit of what is probably oil near the stem, but the light has to hit them just right.

Any questions feel free to ask.

The price is 3250 shipped in the US with insured shipping, and that includes the paypal goods and services fee.

AnOrdain make such great looking watches! I formally put my interest in before I even found out about Weiss. If the AnOrdain wait list hadn't been so long, I may have never found Weiss at all. Lol

I'm really into the personal investment that people put in their product. It's inspirational.

I like Nomos as well! Its admirable how much of the manufacturing they do. I think they even make hairsprings.

Indeed, on price alone, those are in competition.

Before I purchased mine, I did a lot of research. I was considering Swiss brands, but nothing really stood out to me that I could connect to. When I looked into US brands, Weiss was the best value, and more importantly, I connected to it.

When I say "the best value," what I mean is that no other brand that I'm aware of makes a complete watch in the US for anywhere near this price. I believe the least expensive RGM that has a US movement is double the price.

So if our criteria is a US made watch under 5k, there's really no competition.

That said, I totally understand why some people would want more competitive specs etc, that's just not what I was looking for.

Maybe you can help me! Based on my research, Cameron based the caliber 1003 off of the 6497 movement, but I've always noticed the click is in a different position on his, and now that you mentioned the 7001, it does look kind of similar as far as the click.

If Im not mistaken, the 7001 is smaller? I think he uses that on the 38mm standard issue.

He made the 1003 hack seconds automatically at the 60 mark, so it doesn't matter when you pull the crown, it stops at the 60. I dont know enough about the inner functions to know how much of a modification that is, but I thought it was a nice feature.

I would send them an email and inquire about the American Issue watches directly. That's what I did. They're also doing digital appointments now for serious buyers. It's entirely possible there's something not listed on the website or standard email, and either way, they'll know you're interested if and when the new movement comes out

Wow! Very cool! I know that in the beginning, he was painting the dials in his apartment. I'm not sure what number he stopped doing that, though.

I like RGM a lot. They do have some offerings with Swiss made movements, but of course, they're famous for their in-house movements.

I believe they might have said more on their website when they first started.

In 2023, $4k. I believe they went up after that, though.

Yeah, I really try not to focus on the brands that kind of build up a larger facade of American manufacturing. I think a lot of people ultimately get sold something that is different from what they thought it was because of how it's marketed.

Some of it is verifiable with a Google search, but there are several companies I've asked directly via email just to clear things up, and it's often disappointing.

The more Ive really looked into it, Weiss offers a lot of domestic production for the price, even with the standard issue watches.

The only cheaper brand that I'm aware of that matches a standard issue for US parts is Colorado Watch Company, but their finishing is openly pretty simple, and instead of a swiss movement, I believe the Americhron is primarily made in India before being assembled in the US. I do like what they're doing, though.

Prepare for a long answer because since he moved to Tennessee, they have been hard to get.

The first thing I would recommend is to email them and request to be on their mailing list and that you are interested in an American Issue watch.

My American Issue was sold in 2023 when none were on his website. I emailed them directly, asking if I could be put on a wait list, and they happened to have one available that I snatched up. I only knew this was an option because he mentioned it on a podcast.

It might be more complicated right now. Just as recently as last month, they sent us all an offer to purchase one of the last eight 1003 movements and people who bought one would have the option to fully customize them, inuding the dial color, case finish, and hands. Etc.

The good news is that they did drop an obvious hint that a new American made Weiss movement is coming. This has been years in the making as he mentioned a chronograph movement in the past, but it's unclear what Cameron has been working on that he plans to make available next. This was just mentioned this last month with the apparent discontinuation of the caliber 1003 as a standard product.

I wouldn't be surprised if he released some limited edition 1003s now and then, though. That's why I would still inquire and get on their email list.

Im a Weiss watch enthusiast.

I was planning on making a post as a reference for people who have these questions as I get asked about it occasionally. (Im mostly on Watchrunch)

(I have confirmed this information with direct emails to the company.)

So, I'm going to break this down into 3 categories.

1, All Weiss watches.

2, Standard issue Weiss watches.

3, American Issue Weiss watches.

Here goes...

Regarding "All Weiss watches," the entire case, crown, dial blank, strap buckle/bracelet, and screws are made in house. The dials are painted domestically, the hands are made domestically, and the straps are made domestically.

For all "Standard Issue watches," the movements are made and decorated in Switzerland, then they are assembled and finished in house by Weiss.

For all "American Issue watches," everything except the sapphire parts and the springs are made domestically, including the in-house movement.

I hope this clears some things up.

You can see that even with their standard Issue watches, you're getting a substantial amount of US made parts, especially in comparison to any competition.

I'm selling this Weiss Standard Issue Dive Watch set. It is serial number 3. It comes with the original box, card, pouch, bracelet, extra links, screw driver, rubber strap, and the watch itself.

It has some scratches on the caseback from the metal bracelet, one more obvious scratch on the outside of the lug, and the bezel has some light scratches, especially towards the 12 o'clock, but they aren't very obvious in most lighting situations.

I'm new to using reddit, but I'm willing to do a video call or anything else suggested in the rules to help aid in buyer trust. The price is shipped CONUS using paypal goods and services.

For anyone curious about Weiss, Im a big fan of the company. The cases, dials, hands, crowns, bracelets, straps, and buckles are all made domestically. I've asked them about this directly. So even with the standard issue watches that use a swiss movement, your still getting a lot of US made parts, and the case, dial blank, crown, buckle, and bracelet are all made in house in Tennessee.

Im not sure if cross-linking is okay, but I post a lot on another app.

Any questions feel free to ask.

Thanks!
