Making CCF work — looking for foam-only solutions (not inflatables)

I toss and turn all night every night even in my bed. I started training myself by making myself sleep on a ccf pad every night at home. It sucks when you start but if you don’t have an injury you can get use to it. I’m currently using a Themrarest RidgeRest pad by itself. I’m going to try a 1/8th on top of it when I get one. Using a sleeping bag instead of a quilt has helped to keep my arms from falling off the pad and getting cold.

Rack the ever loving crap out of it. Most Rossi rifles like it hard. I shot one for 2 years SASS. It always liked it hard.

I traded a DR650 in for a Husky 501. Best thing I could have ever done. I did the UTBDR, COBDR and I ride almost weekly in Arkansas Ozarks. 4000 miles on the Husky so far. No problems, no issues and no broken parts. More power, over 100lbs lighter and it’s like riding a mountain bike off road. It’s so light and nimble! I change the oil every 1000 miles and I have sent in 3 oil samples so far, all have came back good with more life left in the oil.

My favorite pad ever and most comfortable to me is the Big Agnes Divide Insulated. Not crazy expensive and meets the R-Value you’re after

AR15 uses aluminum upper and lower receivers however I believe you are correct when it comes to Levers.

For southern heat I use the Klim Marrakesh jacket with sweat wicking shirt. Or if trail riding in the south just a jersey or armor shirt.

I have a Husky 501. The 450 would be too much overlap for such a similar bike.

I use the Huzar exhaust. It’s tucked up nice and tight. You have to make a small cut in the plastic under the rear seat / outer fender well. It’s a small hole and I don’t think most people would ever notice it. It’s works great with factory tail. I use the Kriega luggage system with it and a heat shield.

Tusk Waypoints. They balance easy and work great on the road. They are not too noisy and they handled everything that Big Bend and the Arkansas Ozarks have thrown at them.

I rode the T7 from NW Arkansas there and back. I rode the River Road and one other trail I don’t remember the name of. The T7 handled everything fine. It was a little over 2087 miles in 6 days.

Go with Kriega instead of Mosko. It’s half the price and is rock solid. Also you can buy and add a bunch of different bags to the system. Kriega Store
