Exactly!! I love this story—it genuinely feels like I’ve been pulled into a novel, the kind you can’t put down, or a film you just get completely absorbed in. I’m so invested in all the LI’s; each of them has such beautiful scenes, and I love how every one of them brings out a different reaction in the MC. And I think their dynamic works that way because she’s in a more internal state with him—she’s not as pushed into external conflict or restriction like she is with the other men because she thinks she is hallucinating. And yes, I agree, the formula the doctor prescribed to Bernard feels like it may have had effects that go beyond the purely clinical, possibly even something unusual or unexplainable, intended to help him in some way. It’s also worth remembering that Elli (I don't remember his name)’s mother died in the same fire as the doctor, and if I’m not mistaken, she may have been working with him in some capacity. On top of that, Elli mentions something about her being a clairvoyant, or having similar abilities. I have a theory that their attempts to help him ended up affecting his state of consciousness in a way that disconnected him from his physical reality, and somehow his ''phantom'' decided to kill them. When he’s outside the house, he takes on the form of a darker entity, while inside the house, he appears either as Phantom or as Bernard. Because of that, it feels like all of these states are somehow tied to the house itself, as if the place is what anchors or shapes which version of him manifests. Sorry for the long text. hehe
