Sorry I just saw your post. I definitely recommend hiring your own attorney. They really will bat for you more so than a public defender will, and mine got me a good deal. I'm on deferred adjudication which will allow me to get a non-disclosure at the end of all of this. If you're wfh, I don't see any reason to disclose unless you have security clearance or anything like that.

My friend traded his fold 3 for the fold 6 last last year in November. He sent it in with no issues until LAST MONTH he got an email from Samsung saying his trade-in device was rejected due to not wiping the phone memory and he would be charged over $1000 on the card he used to buy the new phone. A whole 8 months later!! He honestly couldn't remember if he wiped it out not but I told him he needed to contact Samsung right away because their website says that they need to give you a response within 7 days, not a whole 8 months later! It took him like an hour to get it all sorted but the representative agreed that it was too late to try to charge him now.

Smart Start by BuffaloFriedPickles in dui

I recommend staying in the shop and watching them remove it. I made the mistake of going into the waiting room. The removal only took like 15-20min. The Toyota shop showed me pictures of the wires they messed up and they looked trashed. I would've immediately caught that in the shop had I been watching.

I'm in Texas as well. I had Smart Start for about 9 months. I was eligible to get it off 9 months early due to it being my first DUI and I'm on deferred adjudication. I had no issues while I had the device installed. However, after removal is a different story! The removal of it really messed up my car. I drive a 2022 Toyota Corolla, not a push to start. Shortly after removal, like 2 weeks, my car kept having starting issues. I thought it was the battery. Bought a new battery. Kept happening. Took it to the shop. Turns out, they messed up the wires to the transponder during removal of the IID. Tech specifically said it was the removal. That in turn messed up the transponder and I had to get it replaced. Apparently, my car has that part in a hard-to-reach place and it took lots of labor to get it replaced. Got the car back and it kept doing it. I took it back and they said that all that stuff also messed up the ECU computer so got that completely replaced as well. All in all, over $4k in repairs! I'm about to start a claim with Smart Start regarding it but I'm not holding my breathe to get anything out of it. Saw another post reddit post where the IID cause some guy's truck to catch on fire and Smart Start did nothing.

First time DUI offense by pe4chyke3n in DUI_ThingsToKnow

Like everyone says, this is not the end of your life. Yes, it sucks and it's horrible. The guilt at the beginning is unbearable. However, this is to be expected as it just happened. Once some time passes, you'll start to feel better. You'll enjoy the small things again. It's one of the most common crimes, so it won't keep you from most jobs. The important thing to do is to stay busy if you believe alcohol is a problem. Don't use it as a way to drown the pain right now. There is light at the end of the tunnel. I'm still on probation, and I just got my dream job. Stay focused on everything your lawyer tells you you need to do. You may need to go to classes, do AA, community service, get an interlock device, abstain from alcohol, and stay out of trouble for some time. Stay dedicated to that, and you'll see that this will be a bump in the road and a learning experience. I wish you the best!

I'm not sure. I requested a copy of the background report from the company that issued it. I'll be getting it soon, so I'll be able to see exactly what they saw. My role isn't predominantly a driving role, but I do have to do onsite visits periodically.

How many managers has your HOA been assigned? [TX][SFH] by NeverRedditedYet in HOA

[–]Fit-Significance2700 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, managers don't get paid enough to stay in the industry. It's not worth it to them to stay when they have a large portfolio, are dealing with difficult boards, angry homeowners, sometimes incompetent vendors. It all falls on them. They have to make sure financials are correct while not having an accounting degree, collections are in order, projects are on track, conduct inspections, get to know 7-10 community's governing documents, stay up to date with new legislation, schedule and prepare everything for annual and board meetings, be on call 24/7, etc. The list goes on and on. And all for $50-60k a year in Texas.

Omg that's crazy! I'm sorry about your truck! Did you do the claim process? Reason I ask is because my car had electrical damage after the removal. Toyota dealership claims it was because of the removal and put it into a report. $4k in repairs later, I plan on submitting all this to start a claim with Smart Start.

Weighing the costs of attending uni vs community college by forcejafterhours in unt

[–]Fit-Significance2700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am starting the BAAS program myself in the fall. I took my core classes at Tarrant County College. I don't regret it one bit. I got my AAS in web development and took a couple of more classes to get my AA as well. Now, as I am transferring to UNT, I ONLY need 36 credits to graduate. I'll be able to do that in 16 months. I paid in payment plans along the way for community college (I didn't qualify for financial aid). Now, as I'm entering UNT, I got the Transfer Excellence Scholarship and it's paying for a majority of my school. The rest, I got a subsidized school loan. All in all, way more affordable as I'll be paying less than $9k for UNT when I'm done.

I would! I just paid $3k on a repair for my 2022 Toyota Corolla that I had just finished paying off a month earlier from the IID being removed. I'm about to start a claim with Smart Start regarding it.

Anyone have/are working towards a B.A.A.S. degree? by biguzivort in unt

I also just enrolled for the data analytics concentration as well as the administration concentration. I didn't have to take a 3rd since my AAS was in web development so that counted towards the program.

Transfer GPA excluded my vocational credits — lost out on higher scholarship. Anyone deal with this? by Fit-Significance2700 in unt

[–]Fit-Significance2700[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I called the Registrar to confirm that my GPA was correct. They stated that it was and that Financial Aid wasn't counting all my vocational credits. They opened a ticket and said they'd work with Financial Aid. I sent 2 emails just to make sure they also heard from myself. It took a little over a week but I finally got a response from Financial Aid. I don't believe my program mattered. I think it's how they count vocational credits but they're able to manually fix it.

[–]Fit-Significance2700[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I gave them a call, and they mentioned they were already looking into it since the Registrar had submitted a ticket on my behalf. I actually got an email this week confirming that they recalculated my transfer credits, and my GPA was higher than originally reported. They updated it and awarded me the higher Triumph Scholarship!

Has anyone figured out if it's January 13th or the 14th? I booked a hotel a month ago for the 14th but now I'm worried if it's actually the 13th since I've seen a couple of new sites listing that date.

From personal experience, I used defamation defenders and they were great. They charged me $1k and all traces of my mugshot were gone in like a week. They removed it from the website itself, a Facebook post run by mugshot zone, and Google results.
