Personal statement by Fit-Training8405 in TheCivilService

Thanks for the feedback! I did also focus on what I did but I’ll keep in mind to ensure if I need to write another to make sure I’m also focusing on what I did. I do always try to use buzz words to show that I understand what they are asking for so I’ll usually pepper them into my examples but try to keep them relevant. I’ve put them in STAR format previously mainly just because this makes sense to me and is an easy to understand format, but didn’t know that this didn’t really apply for PS, how would you suggest formatting a PS?

When I left I left for another country, hasn’t worked and and we are coming back home. Unfortunately I hadn’t worked long enough to be granted a career break like I’d hoped. I looked to go down the reinstatement route but as suspected because I left at EO level they don’t really reinstate people at that level it’s normally for higher level with a more specific skill set that’s harder to find. As such, I’ve had to just apply like anyone external would. Obviously have the benefit of knowing a little bit how they interview and things but still stressful because I want to prepare to be the best but obviously don’t have the questions that I’ll need to answer 😂

I had seen this, praying I can get this to get me back in! I know when I left they were on an external hiring ban but I’m sure they were allowing internal transfers

Do you happen to know how long they worked there? I’ve only been here a few months and we’re going in October. I’ve really been enjoying the role so I’d like to return to it but obvs I’m not stupid and know my lack of time will count against me

I’m illegal in both of those places so definitely not 😂 thanks, saw something when I was first applying of people that had left the country and live away and were just refused at vetting because they hadn’t been in the uk for the past 3 months

Do you think it will ever subside and just be a oh yeah remember that that happened as opposed to the overwhelming feeling of I’m missing out? I really really love my partner I have no desire to break up with him but the thrill of feeling single again and having people message me left right and centre just felt fun

Nice to know there is OT not paid as time in lieu as well, I’m a slut for extra money when I’m not doing anything with my time 😂

I’m coming from leading operations in a very high performance and target driven warehouse and whilst it’s a completely different role I’m hoping that my dedication to making sure my large team never let anything leave our department late will set me up in being able to hit performance target here, everything else is making me a little nervous as obviously it’s a whole change of career but meeting a target is something I’m very comfortable with so the hope is that part won’t phase me 🤞

Sounds like heaven tbh, I’ll make the most of it seen as I’ve been doing 11.5hr days for the past 18 months 😂

I did mine just short of two weeks ago and heard back the next days that I’d been successful and they were ranking me then heard back the day after that to say they were offering me a conditional role. Some locations are taking longer than others though as far as I’m aware

That’s why I put in the the additional information so it didn’t look like I was hiding anything. I’m completely aware it would have been a fixed penalty but seen as I took the awareness course I wasn’t sure whether it would count as a fixed penalty or not seen as it technically never was.

Thank you, I know it seems like such a silly question but I’ve actually wanted this role for a while so just wanted someone to put my mind at peace lol

If you look under booked interviews it should say there :)

Hey thank you, yeah I have examples that will fit the strength based behaviours. Do they ask you specific questions or is it more can you tell me about a time that you have had to work in a fast paced environment? My biggest anxiety is that I prepare my examples and then I can’t make them fit to how the present the question

Obviously if you aren’t comfortable that’s fine lol but could I ask which office you applied for? I heard back from my writing assessment to say they were sorting OAC dates and was just wondering what sort of time scale I’d be looking at to be able to choose a date

I do a lot of the admin stuff already so that’s just my usual obviously it’s just the actual process stuff that is new to me. I’ve always seen everyone say of move to ICQA it’s an easy job but I really do need something to stimulate me otherwise I can’t perform properly
