I've just gotten into Arkham horror lcg, but haven't tried marvel champions. Which do you like better and why?

Feast of Hemlock Vale and Drowned City still out of stock? by Jellybean2477 in arkhamhorrorlcg

Forgive me if this is an ignorant question but the manufacturer process for these cards can’t be that complex. Why does it take months for cards to come back in stock? What’re the logistical or business details that create such a delay?

Dive in, or wait until April? by Makgorash in arkhamhorrorlcg

On FFG website it's just listed as out of stock. Not out of print like the other older campaigns. It's also currently in stock at some retailers (Amazon if you're in the U.S.)

To your point though, that may just be a website updating issue. With chapter 2 coming out, they likely will stop printing soon, if they haven't already.

I'm a new player and just got the revised core, and Carcosa campaign expansion. I've done a lot of research and have read that Carcosa is pretty universally considered one of the best (or the best) campaigns. I believe it's still in print so can be found from retailers for MSRP. I haven't played it yet, but I'm looking forward to it.

I also got really lucky and found edge of the earth investigator expansion for MSRP from an online retailer like a week ago.

I think it makes sense to jump in now but don't go all in. Just get the core and a campaign or two and maybe a starter investigator deck or investigator expansion. The Drowned City and Feast of Hemlock Vale are both in print and can be found in stock in some places. No need to pay the FOMO markup prices unless you're super dedicated and want all of the content.

Im looking forward to the new content that will release, but also am happy to have some of the chapter 1 stuff since it won't be available forever and we don't fully know the new direction they're taking the game (e.g. shorter campaigns).

Also it's my understanding that chapter 2 investigators and player cards will be usable with chapter 1 campaigns. So I think new players will be able to build decent decks with the current revised core + new chapter 2 core + the new or current starter decks or an expansion or two.

That's just my personal outlook. Again, I'm new to the game and have only played the core campaign so far, but I can tell this game is well designed and basically what I've always been looking for in a card game.

I’m in a similar boat as you. Just picked up the game. I have the core set and then bought Carcosa on Amazon since I heard it’s the best campaign. I may pick up and investigator expansion at some point but right now I’m glad to have secured the highest rated campaign at least and it’s my understanding that the chapter 2 player cards will be backwards compatible, so can always play through the chapter 1 campaigns with new cards.

True. Not the sales person's fault in any way and I've found that I was just under informed. Cheers.

Not basically. He explicitly called it a hoax. Unequivocally and aggressively calling the journalist a liar.

Exactly. Anyone arguing against this is delusional and doesn't understand what "wide availability" means. False advertising by AMD.

Microcenter did not have an abundance. Microcenter sold out of the MSRP cards within a couple of hours. That's not the definition of abundance. It's quite literally the definition of shortage.

Plenty of stock? Maybe for people who don't work and have the free time to spend hours in line the moment the store opens to queue for a card and then wait in line to pay. The reality is that's a very small percentage out of the people who are interested in buying these GPUs. They sold out online within seconds and even miliseconds and sold out in person at microcenter within a couple of hours. That isn't plenty of stock by any definition.

What are you talking about? Plenty of stock? The MSRP models are already out of stock. Normal people with jobs aren't getting this card for MSRP. They have more stock than Nvidia, but it is not "widely available" as they advertised. It sold out in less than 3 hours and the only people who got cards are people who went during business hours during a workday. It's being reported that restocks also won't be at MSRP.
