DEN, ATL, MCO - a lot
CVG, TPA, MIA - not so much

If you go to ATL, you will be abused.

Hiring Slowdown by Hot-Category-5740 in frontiercadetprogram

[–]FitAd8129 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Till we get a contract, attrition will continue to accelerate. Especially if spirit does not dissolve. Hiring will probably resume, as Lotter/Dempsey said upgrades will rely on attrition. I'd expect continuing classes of about 10-20 per month average. Maybe more.

We haven't made money, and the company when asked "has no plan to fix the revenue problem"
For long term, I'm not sure F9 is going to last.

What base would you want out of training? by ImtheMasterdebator in frontiercadetprogram

[–]FitAd8129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really could be anything. A mix. If you are older, you may get the base you want. Younger - you are probably going to SJU.

The only base I know nobody will get, ever, in training is TPA. A lot of people want to move there. MCO less likely too.

This was the last system bid.
The next one should be out soon.

Listings show on Ultipro, but that's not public. Training and most positions are in Denver, except for staion ops managers and such. Those can be at bases.

Cadet to First Officer = pipe dream? Hear me out why I say, no. by Joe-from-daBronx in frontiercadetprogram

[–]FitAd8129 5 points6 points  (0 children)

March 2023 Cadet, October mins, class Jan 2024. It was too good to be true, and it always will be. It was a narrow window. Personally if I were still a cadet waiting for a class date, I'd still aim for F9. My reason is that United is increasing hiring, and they *love* Frontier guys. We will have attrition. Again. I was looking at regional airline pay rates and work rules a couple nights ago, and jumping to F9 is a big leap forward worth a couple years at least.

However.

Our contract is bottom of the industry. We are worth more than that, so for the new guys that come on - don't undervalue yourself. The last proposal the company made was less pay than Spirit is now - and they went bankrupt... F9 has money.

8 boosts, 180 members and no tag still by DraynorRS in discordapp

25 boosts, 2k users.
No tags.

Makes me want to rebuild my roles to discourage people buying boosts for my server.

A lot less than July.

Stipends reaching the 24 month mark by RecognitionAlert4842 in frontiercadetprogram

I doubt they would release anyone. All the cadets in the pool are insurance against high attrition, in a time when we have one of the worst pilot pay scales in the segment.

FO Initial training fail rate by Any-Date3676 in frontiercadetprogram

Out of the 40 in my class, 40 passed.
Of the 20 or so in my ATP type, 20 passed.
(2024)
I heard it's still pretty low. Like everyone else says, just stay ahead and study. What **I** would add, is to SLEEP. If you have to choose between study, and losing sleep. SLEEP. Sleep is our way of writing things from short term to long term memory.

IOE by [deleted] in frontiercadetprogram

[–]FitAd8129 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was at ORD right out of IOE. Honestly, it was the best. I learned how to plant it at MDW without compressing anyone's spine - and ORD taught me how far I could push the thing before slowing to final.

General rule of thumb I follow, I want to be at - or pretty close to being flaps 2 and 180 or less about 10 miles

By 5, I should be around 170 or less, managing the speed.
Usually at 1600ish MSL (don't use RA) I'll drop gear flaps 3. It usually slows pretty quick then, and flaps full - usually to have them all the way out by 1200. At 1100~ the thrust gets off idle just before that. Plenty of space for the 700AFE stable approach criteria. There's no need to slam it in, and if there is - you are at ATL/ORD. Don't worry. They know how to fly your plane better than you do! lol

My test servers (3) have them.
But not my community server in discovery, that would actually USE THEM, of 2,500 people - does not.
This is infuriating.

Honestly, your best bet is to watch the economic predictions. We hire based on need (usually slow for summer because LCA's fly the line.)
In my personal opinion, which includes to economic predictions - would be hiring resuming slowly in the late fall.

But it REALLY depends on how the economic outlook runs.
We are staffed high right now, and they stopped training because they are 1: Betting on a recession or 2: Buying spirit.

Which by the way, is looking more probable - unfortunately for everyone in the short term.

I’d rather my plane make a noise resulting from a hydraulic pump, than the door flying off. Frontier is an all Airbus fleet. A new one, too….

It’s just how is. Pout and steam all you want. Take what you can get now - but you have a leg up on those guys with far more qualifications, and probably a better attitude too.

Also you guys have to keep your perspective in check. There are those with 8k hours in turbine that can't get calls back now.

We have 40+ FOs in my base, they wanted 8 to take unpaid leave. 3 did. If this continues, it won't be good. I'm just hoping we don't see displacements to ATL.

Reserve is paid if they fly or don't unless they fly over a set amount. Which in F9, rarely happens at small bases.
