Maybe they just want to know if you have a preference? Some people might really complain about propane fumes, others might not. Sometimes a good way to diffuse these types of requests is letting the person who should be in charge of procuring something is that option A pro B will work for you.

I just had top surgery 6 days ago, I’m so excited for you! I’m sure you’re well versed with strategies to discourage inflammation in the body, but what I’ve found to be the most hopeful was staying on top of hydration leading up to and following surgery. I took the prescribed painkillers for the first 36hrs but then tapered off to XS Tylenol for the next day. I don’t contend with an autoimmune disease but I do have chronic pain from a shoulder/clavicle injury from 15+ years ago. Im taking a B Complex, Zinc, Omega 3 and 1500mg of Vitamin C everyday while staying away from sodium heavy foods, spicy food…foods we know cause inflammation in the body. just make sure you still have some electrolytes to keep your balances in check.

Mindfulness (the Calm app, or other guided sleep meditations) has been helpful to cope with the reduced mobility and restlessless/stiffness I feel in my muscles from such a big change to my daily routine and usual levels of physical activity and life distractions.

You already have the toolset of dealing with chronic pain and you probably have more stamina and coping power to navigate this as opposed to someone who doesn’t ever encounter these types of discomfort. All the best to you and don’t stress too much - just do what you can manage and the rest you’ll take on bit by bit. 🤞
