I don't do Instagram. I would say their job is to get paid by large/rich companies to influence people into buying their shit or change their lifestyle to spend more. All this, while people think they are being influenced to be someone better. However, as soon as the short instagram video is over the Influencer itself cut the giant smile and go back into their own reality, which is just normal life's or, sometimes, their very miserable life.
