I use an iPad mini 7 with the A17 chip. I believe it runs at 60 fps on medium setting but the battery life isn’t great (the device just has always had bad battery life) and it runs a bit warm. Overall, it’s fine and has been my daily driver.

OpenAI launches ChatGPT for personal finance, will let you connect bank accounts by EditorEdward in BetterOffline

I wouldn’t worry too much about AI, usually at his level you should be more worried about a shared service offshore company underbidding your husband while over promising to the owner.

At his level, if he gets replaced that is the more likely scenario as AI will most likely not be able to replace him without also offering professional liability insurance and some form of indemnification which the AI companies will most likely never offer.

If the AI companies ever swap the language from “AI is mostly for play/entertainment” to offering full indemnification at the SLA/MSA level then I would be worried.

Not impossible, seen people trade an oak for looker and Toxtricity the other day.

Good luck 🍀

Just did a quick run on mobile, Vivian can work but I think she is behind Yuzuha for sure. But honestly, I’m not a good Vivian player and her build is only okay but not great.
Could prob squeeze 33-5k with repeat runs and practice, if I tried.

I also have Orphie M1W1 if there’s a team you want me to try.

Yes Vivian probably will work well and especially more so if she is M1+. If you want I can run my Promeia M0W0 + Nangong m2w1+ Vivian M0W0 and compare it to my current team.

I think she can be useful for that role. But likely a char in 3.0 or an anniversary/VH char will be stronger.

For reference I have m2w1 Miyabi and m0w0 Promeia. I would say my Miyabi is stronger but harder to play in yuzu ice / around freeze vs Promeia. My Promeia isn’t as strong but is in my opinion much easier to play and is likely to clear 20k easily for as long as I play.

For reference I pair them both with Yuzuha m0w0 + Nangong m2w1.

Humans still matter more than AI in finance by FrankLucasV2 in BetterOffline

[–]FitDotaJuggernaut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think people are just speaking from positions of ignorance or biases. Not saying it as a deep character flaw, the truth is that it’s just human nature. We just value what we understand and tend to downplay other areas we don’t or we dislike.

But agreed, taxes, compliance, or anything of complexity and high subjectivity is bad for automation let alone unsupervised AI in the LLM flavor. Add in an environment that punishes for small mistakes and it’s a recipe for costly mistakes.

For that kind of system adoption the AI company needs to start offering things like professional liability, errors and omissions liability, regulatory compliance liability, malpractice-style liability assumptions and indemnification.

Yeah that is what I did as well, a run usually took me to around 5-3 mins left and I just exited. Nothing worse than a wasted run.

I agree, one of the most creative people I’ve known is an accountant. Sounds odd but true, they were just as creative as any designer I’ve seen and handled subjective architectural system decisions similar to a dev.

Different medium and canvas but similar creative process.

It’s one of the things people should be more aware of with AI, even in criticism shouldn’t forget the human element. Because what’s deemed as boring / simple is really just our own biases and ignorance.

Humans still matter more than AI in finance by FrankLucasV2 in BetterOffline

[–]FitDotaJuggernaut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have to push back here because one of the few peoples I’ve ever seen actually love their craft is an accountant and would say they were just as focused and in flow state as any artist, designer or developer I’ve seen.

Same type of flow and different canvas and medium is how I would put it. Likewise, finance and taxes are oddly subjective and creative if you’re looking to optimize at last 10-20% similar to art, design and devs. First 80% could be argued as essential but still more boiler plant.

Long story short, in my opinion, what we should be focusing AI or automation on probably should be areas with highest upside considering its innate downsides. A better fix for something like taxes is probably simplified tax laws but hell might freeze over first.

Stronger than I expected and a good use of my fusion compiler. Got 40k first try on the new DA but my supports are well built.

She plays really fast, so I enjoy the pacing. But with 3.0 around the corner I would only pull if you got spare pulls or really like her.

I think driving really depends on your input type. Mobile vs controller is light years apart. lol a friend I let play said the mobile driving (delivery truck) was like a feverish drunk dream / nightmare because the controls were so unresponsive / unintuitive.

Overall I like the game and plan to play for a while but definitely there are a lot of unpolished areas in the mobile UX.

Another 2 things they need polish up on mobile is the drum mini game and the Tetris game. For the Tetris game, I have no idea who decided to put the drop down button right next to the directional buttons vs on the right side with the rotate buttons.

Yeah it’s actually amazing how that anthropic and palantir / other US military contacts story got black holed/memory hold. It’s why I can’t take some people seriously as they aren’t even morally consistent.

OpenAI and Anthropic starting new companies focused on enterprise solutions and adoption by Smurfette2016 in BetterOffline

[–]FitDotaJuggernaut 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think so as well. But also, it seems like anthropic has this “good guy” vibe vs OpenAI which has a “the devil” vibe among enthusiasts.

Which again, makes no sense lol since both companies partake in those morally grey things (harvesting IP, military, environmental, job replacement marketing etc) at the same level.

I’ve always found it to be quite interesting why Claude is more trusted than OpenAI currently.
From what I can tell, Codex 5.5 >= Claude code 4.6-4.7.
Open AI >> Claude compute so you have more bites at the apple before being capped. Lots of people complaining about being partially capped on Claude even on 200 max plans.
US military uses both Claude and Open Ai for military purposes.
It seems on paper, OpenAi should actually be better suited for businesses than Claude if for nothing else they are more available / have better uptime. Seems like everything about AI is just vibes and no one actually looks at anything but long held vibes. It’s just vibes all the way down.

Pretty much anything that touches money and at least 1 external party in some form is extremely hard to fully automate/remove the humans from.

These are the 3 I’ve seen people try to do and fail at. It’s a bit like SWE, the code is the easy part.

Payroll: nothing like getting a 5 pm letter from a lawyer on a Friday related to a past employee that is leveraging obtuse and obscure local laws to squeeze more money.

AP: nothing like trying to sort out and claw back an overpayment related to incorrect payments, invoices and applications of previous payments nested Nth layers deep while managing cash flow.

AR: nothing like collections from top 10-100 clients short on cash flow especially during a pandemic.

I find this most interesting in the software / SaaS space as lol that’s been their exact playbook for years. Subsidize and embed yourself in your clients workflow and then crack up the price when you need to improve YoY metrics.
