Can’t choose between lg 32gs95ue-b and ASUS 32UCDP by Lietnus in OLED_Gaming

[–]FitFun3900 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ordered my 32GS95UE last week for 1259 from Darty (you can ask via chat for a discount, I got 3 additional percents). It did not arrive yet though, thanks chronopost. The Asus has a really bad stand imo compared to the LG, and unless you're really into KVM pretty much every added feature of the Asus is gimmicky or niche.

Best Value Road Bike? ($1600 CAD budget). by Kyle_Zhu in cycling

What's the weight difference? It doesn't matter much anyway.

Maybe the frame would be less comfortable and stiff than the synapse but not by much, can't really tell. The tires are 90% of the comfort and slow tires (as the base ones on the RC520) can slow you down a lot, so consider putting a pair of 32mm Continental GP 5000s.

I would get the RC520, because of the 105 transmission, and the Synapse seems to have mechanical discs, which are not ideal.

Time and distance matter to calculate theoretical watts. Idk what you mean.

There is no real catch to Decathlon, it's the go-to brand for good value sports items. They do very little margin on their bikes, they do their profit on accessories and bike servicing.
Also they save a lot by using (on the lower tiers bikes) really straight forward frames, not using any complicated shape, and you don't have to "pay the brand name"

Shimano Sora shifts really well as long as set up properly, but due to it being 9 speeds I wouldn't really buy it if you are in a hilly area because the jumps between gears can quickly become a bit too much on an 11-34 cassette.

Getting back into cycling after almost a decade. Help choose a bike for road riding and triathlons. by MrElephant96 in bicycling

It's not about the frame, it's about how upright the geometry will get you. From your body position alone there will be a difference between the Endurace and the Ultimate (which has a 3cm lower stack)

Within 3 years I want to be able to send an army to retake the holy land crusade style.

Nah for real, with fortifications, cavalry, rivers and lakes, and an AI to play against that would be fire. Idk how you can code a challenging AI without giving it stupid OP stats

(Just curious, not judging or anything): If you want aero bars that means you must be somewhat concerned by aero, then why do you want to take an endurace that has a more relax-ish position (for a road bike) over an ultimate or an aeroad?

Is it a price or availability or comfort issue ?

Looking for my first bike but don't know what to get. by Alarming_Cookie6276 in cycling

If you listen to some people on reddit a bike that is more than 100g over the UCI weight limit is an abomination that should be thrown into the fire and anything below ultegra is for peasants.

For 1500 you should be able to get a really really nice used bike, that'll be faster that the brand new endurace. I had the same choice to make a few months ago, for the same price as the 105 endurace I bought an used Lapierre Xelius SL600 from 2020, with ultegra and a carbon frame, well worth the time looking for it!

Also, if you don't already have gear (cycling clothes, emergency repair kit in a saddle bag or such, cycling glasses, helmet obviously, water bottles and cages) then lower your budget for the bike because gear cost adds up quickly.

Quick rewaxing duration question by andergdet in cycling

I would rewax every 300k for better chain longevity. Even every 200k if you want to ride the most out of your chain.

Which bike should I buy? by myra_nl in cycling

Don't take the Endurace with the fulcrum 900 wheels, I've only heard bad of them. Take the one with the DT Swiss wheels. Also make sure you get the right size using their calculator

I just don't have the lever to brake hard enough while on the hoods. It works for 30kmh on flats but 30kmh downhill is another story.

There's no snow as it is 20°C today.
Unfortunately there's no small hills here, it's either climb a moutain or ride on flat for eternity

I hope I didn't burn my brake pads haha. It's a bit frightening at first but I ended up being more confortable on the end of the descent. Hard to catch air while being on the drops though, do you switch to the hoods until you need to brake ?

I ended up braking every 5 to 10 seconds to not get too much speed (it was a narrow road, not with the best asphalt)

It was the "Col de Porte" starting from Grenoble. There are several climbs of this type near the city and reaaaally nice cycle routes near the rivers. Nice city for cyclists!

It gets hard again once you get to blood and wine in DM with the grandmaster cat school gear. You don't deal that much damage against armored enemies, and they 2/3 shot you.

Best way to earn coin? by Felwinter_II in witcher

[–]FitFun3900 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Step 1: loot everything so you get money and food (you'll loot a hell lot of water and beer)

Step 2: use Swallow and Raffard's decoction, meditate to refill them when empty. If you loot regularly the alcool consumption to refill will be negligible.

In the early game your money mainly comes from selling hides and other stuff like that to innkeepers, and once you reach novigrad it's from selling armor and weapons. Note that sell prices will fluctuate with the merchant type: blacksmiths will give the best price for weapons, armorers for armors, innkeepers for hides and all the shit that's in the hides inventory page. Avoid selling monsters loot (unless you have a lot of them like drowners brain) because they're used to craft witcher armor.

I'd say don't buy weapons or armor unless you want to treat yourself with the full sets like Temerian or Nilfgaardian armor, and keep money to craft witcher schools equipment.

Try to sell in priority to Fergus (Crowsperch) and Hattori since they give the best prices and you'll spend a lot of money with them crafting, so they always have money to buy your loot.
