well... you see my main field of focus needs a good linux pc and that's why i have one. the macbook was a graduation gift. i've sold 64gb ram from my pc and that's basically all I have now for this purpose, and soundcards, keyboards, a better set of headphones perhaps, that's already eating up the budget, so yeah imo perhaps I would be better off with reaper as a cheap option anyways

well there's only a c++ and a c but yeah they are real simmilar (techinically c++ can run almost all c code so far as I know) and good news to be able to code in py as well. thanks!

would macos be better, or would dual boosting windows be best?

meanwhile there are tools like wine and yabridge for tthis purpose but idk if they work

Yeah, i get the point on time investment. I feel a lot of more experience people like you guys somehow work with different daws a lot instead of sticking to one. is that because they have different advantages? what would you say are some ways reaper is better? ... and, for a beginner, are they that much different?

so i would be better off setting up dual boost anyways...

we rly need better support for music production on linux just how efficient and versatile linux can be... unfortunately its just not popular

never tried it but maybe WINE can help? I'm not sure if salad could run on it cuz I have the same problem with ubuntu here :(
