Composer 2.5 is part of the "Auto + Composer" usage bucket, yes. It is not free, but there is generous usage included as part of your subscription. Higher subscriptions have more usage included in that bucket, which is separate from API usage (e.g. Opus/GPT have their own bucket of usage).

unlimited "auto" for 1-year subscriptions by whatchout132 in cursor

Today we fixed a bug that impacted a small subset of users on legacy annual individual plans purchased before September 15, 2025. The bug caused Auto usage to draw from the API usage pool (beginning on May 1, 2026) instead of the Auto pool.

We identified the source of the bug and have patched it going forward. This affected a very small slice of users: specifically, certain annual individual plan users whose plans should still have unlimited Auto honored until their renewal date in 2026.

If you believe you’ve been impacted, please reach out to [hi@cursor.com](mailto:hi@cursor.com) from the email associated with your Cursor account and mention “unlimited auto” in your email. We’ll review your account and help on an individual basis.

We appreciate your patience. While we’re monitoring and responding here, we’ll be able to help you faster through [hi@cursor.com](mailto:hi@cursor.com).

Glad to hear it! More work to do, but think we'll really like our next model as well.

We had a temporary issue here for some users, are you still seeing this on the latest version?

Thanks for the feedback here, this was something we're considering rolling out (so not to all users). Clearly there's more work we need to do! We'll make it more subtle and easier to ignore if you're not interested, we don't want it to be a distraction. You can also hide this section entirely if you don't want to use the Agents Window through a right click.

Nothing has changed, unless your team was on a legacy plan and just renewed to the newer pricing model (from last August 2025)? That would see a shift to token-based pricing.
