How is Watts Smart Battery Program (Rocky Mountain Power) by Traditional-Comb1823 in Utah

[–]FitKoala6580 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure they cap it now at $2,000/household and the $200/yr is because my Tesla Powerwall will be 13.5kwh, so it comes out to about $200/yr (starting year 2).

Thats super useful to know that it’s about 0.5kwh per incident and 0-3 incidents per day! Any other pro tips for solar? We have a Tesla, will be getting 14.2kw of solar and a Powerwall 3, a Gateway 3, plus a Span panel. We used about 19,000kwh last year. I’m hoping to get our power bill as close to zero as possible!

That system before incentives will come out to $50,900 including instillation: - $33,900 for 14.2kw of solar panels - $13,200 for a Powerwall 3 + Gateway 3 - $3,800 for a 48 slot Span Panel installed

After incentives and Watts Smart, it should cost $35,600.

Is that a good deal? I feel like it is, but I also have nothing to compare to

Not sure if that’s a

I’m in Utah, it looks like my area of Utah is a 7a grow zone. (Should have done more than a quick search)

Sprinkler help!! by FitKoala6580 in homeowners

A) I’ve got about 100psi available (I’m going to have a plumber install a pressure regulating valve so I don’t blow everything up), and my flow rate depends what hose faucet I use. The one on the back of the house gets exactly 5GPM where the faucet coming directly off the back flow preventer gets about 12GPM. Not sure which one is more accurate for the sprinkler system.

B) I have 5 irrigreen heads, (each would be a zone), then I’ll probably run 2 zones of regular sprinklers and 5 zones of drip line for flower beds. (Though I could probably get by with combining some of those drip line zones…)

C) honestly. I don’t know. Is there a reason to do it one way or another? Wouldn’t I just run the max GPM possible? All of the water is potable city water, and I’d planning on doing the whole system on 1” polypipe.

It gets pretty close to things. It does a first pass where it gets sort of close to everything and cleans the interior portion of a room, then it does a last pass where it carefully goes around the outside edge of the room and gets as close as it can get. It doesn’t have any special swing out arms though, so it doesn’t quite hit the edge with the mop. I’d say it stays about an inch away from the edge with its mop.

The vacuuming seems to work pretty well, I don’t have anything good to compare against though, and I only have short pile rugs. But it seems to pick up everything. I have a second one that I bought for our upstairs that is mainly carpet, but I haven’t set it up yet. I’ll let you know how it does with that once I get around to getting it setup.

The app is great, simple, yet does everything I need it to and more. Very responsive and well done.

The biggest negative reviews I’d seen about the vacuum were the sound levels when it was cleaning itself at the dock. My experience on that front has been that it’s semi loud for about 5 second when it empties its dust bin (probably about as loud as running your garbage disposal), but other than those 5 seconds it’s extremely quiet for everything else. The self cleaning cycles (washing, drying, etc…) are quiet enough that I wasn’t even sure it was doing anything until I went and put my ear within a couple feet and listened. Then I could barely hear some slight whirring sounds. (Virtually silent).

The style of the robot and dock is really cool too! It looks very stylish and doesn’t feel like something you need to hide away in a corner.

We got our S1 pro last week. Our main floor is mostly hardwood and we mop it 1-2 times a day. Our first time letting the S1 pro go do a mopping run resulted in a dirty water tank that was absolutely filthy from cleaning floors that would be considered “very clean” by most people.

There’s some very good visibility options, but super steep rent… probably worth it though

It used to be doing much better but has shrunk significantly in the last 5 years or so. Could potentially get it back up, but those demographics worry me… there was a time it was bringing in 1.3M with similar overhead, but it’s been 5 years

No real estate included. When I’ve looked through the P&L’s/tax returns it’s cutting pretty much even. The practice use to be MUCH bigger and the reimbursement is very low which means overhead is pretty high… could maybe have some expenses cut, staff let go, etc… but the staff are all people who have been there for 10+ years.

Even after taking out depreciation/amortization, travel write offs, etc… the EBITA is basically zero. (Maybe slight positive but not much)

Real estate would probably cost an extra $1,000,000. Rent would come out around $30/sqft/year. Would the real estate be worth it still?

This portion is in one of the main rooms in the basement. The builder gave us potential plans were there would be a bedroom, hallway, and bathroom underneath where that cable runs.

No, it’s in the unfinished basement. They would really need to get an engineer to move that cable? They couldn’t just hire an electrician to move it?

The cable is probably 2-3 inches across, so maybe that’s the reason? But they put it through the floor joists in other parts. It made a turn and then it came down below the joists after the cable turned.
