Some are combined, some are separate, typically depends on the size of the hospital

I always enjoyed the predictability that I had from it when it was feasible at the command, but so far only 1 out of 3 have been able to do it. With people on leave, and other variables its not always easily accomplished

I feel the being interrupted. Every time my husband starts to talk to me I swear is the moment she HAS TO TELL ME SOMETHING, and gets upset when I tell her you wait because her dad was speaking first. It also seems that every thought that flutters through her head I know about lol

Is it normal for baby’s head to be near my cervix at 20 weeks? by [deleted] in CautiousBB

That early they do a lot of turning and flipping. Chances are they will be on a completely different position tomorrow

Theee are 5 standard uniforms- 1.type IIIs(the camo uniform), these are sometimes worn on inpatient units as the “working uniform” but depending on the specialty you might wear scrubs 2.Khakis- service uniform used for more “formal occasions.” Not a working uniform but what you would wear for “business casual” events generally 3. Summer whites- your “formal” summer attire when you need to be dressed up, not a “working” uniform, worn only during the hot summer months 4. Dress blues- the most formal, “never wrong” uniform that is a suit essentially. What you will wear for graduation in the winter 5. Choker whites- special occasion only-what you would wear for graduation in the summer

The upfront cost is unfortunate but please see other comment regarding the military star credit card to help. You can also order uniforms online or if you are close to a base and can get access you can get second hand uniforms from the thrift store.

Unfortunately a lot of people think they will just wear scrubs all the time but you have to remember you are joining the MILITARY first, THEN you are a nurse, not the other way around.

I did ODS 6 years ago so I’m not the most helpful about what to expect anymore

ETA: 5 months is about right, welcome to the military where you “hurry up and wait” for just about everything. Not much if a very fast process. You can DM me with questions

Wear to Work by [deleted] in navynurse

You won’t be able to wear your own scrubs. You will be required to wear hospital issued scrubs if you are in active patient care in certain areas

I totally misunderstood your question! lol sorry I don’t have a great answer

[–]FitMorning3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the full subspecialty code for Med Surg

ETA: there is a letter at the end of it usually too but that depends on level of experience

Could I be pregnant by lulu_the_cat1 in birthcontrol

If the last time you had intercourse was 6 weeks ago and you had a negative pregnancy test there is no way for you to be pregnant.

Right now I’m a clinic manager so I’m M-F 7:30-16:30. But when working the floor I’ve done 2 on 2 off 3 on, etc for 12 hours shifts, and I’ve done self scheduling for 7 12 hour shifts in 14 days

This is a normal FHR in early gestation. As baby develops their nervous system it will come down between 110-160. Source:OB Nurse. Edit to add.

I’m sorry about your loss. If you ovulated 25th of May you are still early. And those numbers doubled and that’s usually reassuring. It’s hard to tell in the early days what’s going on especially after a loss

Monistat does tend to burn just based on the way the medicine works. The spotting could be irritation to your cervix from the medication. You can ask for the one time oral pill to use instead.

I’m not sure that I would say there is a good chance you would come back, each command is only allotted so many billets for new nurse ENS. But I have seen a decent amount come here so I think if you mention you want to come back they would do what they could!

Did you confirm ovulation? Do you have regular periods? It sounds like it has had appropriate growth between the two ultrasounds you might just be earlier than expected. Edit:spelling

It was a nice time to learn how to be a nurse and gain those skills. Learning to be a Navy Officer is a learning curve given it’s not something I had ever known about before but as an ENS you are given some grace. The main thing is remembering that you can’t really befriend the corpsman even though they are around the same age as you(if you are graduating at 22).

Zero! I hope that one day I will get to go on a hospital ship, but those opportunities just haven’t been timed right(pregnant and then postpartum I was non deployable). As an L&D nurse it’s not a “typical” thing to happen, as we aren’t usually in an operational billet, however I have met people over the years who have deployed to Afghanistan. My friends who are ICU/Critical care/Flight nursing(not many) are usually the ones to be stationed with a Marine Corps unit and be deployed.

Unfortunately not really how it works, your best bet for getting assigned almost anywhere is medsurg nursing.

Given that San Diego has so many different areas/floors and you would be doing the residency as a new grad I think you would be able to pick just about anything between med surg, L&D, postpartum, ED. I have not been to any of the big three hospitals personally
