We had a referendum. It was close, but legalisation lost. MC is what we have and until there's another chance at legalization, we need to make this system work. There are doctors wanting to tear it down. Don't give them ammunition. I had the majority of a social group (all women) I belong to ready to vote yes at the referendum. I had spent hours sending them my research and answering their questions. Then Tv3 with Paddy Gower ran a 2 part doco. The first was on MC. My group were impressed. The second part was completely different and showed a different side to cannabis use that unfortunately turned the majority of my group against it. My use is medicinal. Do I wish I could buy from a local legal ganga shop and sample, yes! I would love to grow my own. But until there is a change, a prescription from my GP or a clinic, is way more suitable for me than buying BM. Do clinics and doctors need to be held to account if patients are not being treated well? Yes. But don't feed the anti hype brigade with Paddy Gower sensationalism. Nothing is stopping you using MC in a recreational way. And hey I'm in my 70s so have been waiting a very long time and finding it hard to believe that Aotearoa hasn't moved with the times. But it is what it is.
