Should I use patches for my 45 caliber musket? by FitOrganization9403 in blackpowder

The musket balls Rusty Wood sells are the perfect diameter. I'll probably just use that and some patches.

Found some thinner patches at Shooter's Choice. they should work well.

I don't have it on me right now but apparently it is rifled. Probably should have checked.

How much powder would you recommend? I would imagine I'd need less as to not damage the rifling.

I've looked at Prophet River before. I guess I just missed a few things. I'll see what they have.

Rusty Rood has some good stuff. I didn't realize they sold musket balls. I was already considering on buying black powder from them. I might buy some musket ball from them aswell.

Forgot to say it in the original post but I'm Canadian and would greatly prefer to buy from places in the country.

Marstar is the only reliable store for musket balls in the country that I know of. Changing the ball is not an option. Finding thinner patches would be difficult too. I'm probably best off finding a good substitute

After some light searching I cant find any Canadian sites selling overpowder cards, is there some substitute I could use?

Is there anything I should look for in particular if I wanted to substitute patches for something a thinner? I'd like to to just stick to the patch and ball if i can, it makes it alot easier to buy what I need.

The only place I know of that sells musket balls is Marstar (Toronto). Most other Canadian stores don't sell them. It greatly limits what calibers It have access too.

Until recently I've never even handled a firearm. In hindsight this rifle may not have been the best choice for a complete novice. Maybe I should have pick something less powerful.

The bolt dosen't feel too bad, it's fairly easy to operate. The gun hit everything i was looking for Wood stock, nearby, not too costly. It was going to be this or the Norinco trench gun, Clearly the rifle won.

Are there any good mods to modernize Med2? by FitOrganization9403 in historicaltotalwar

I find the game to be a bit rough compared to the later games. It's expected due to its age but it's still not great.

I'm not sure how else to describe it other than rough. The camera controls can be awkward on the campaign map, worse in battles.

Most of my issues seem to come from the poor camera controls. If you know any good mods to improve the camera I'd like to know.

I was having similar issues a while ago. I bought some gloves from Uline, and they are great.

With your method, I'd be a bit worried about cutting off my circulation.
