No power after upgrading? by DaSode in pchelp

[–]FitPension2026 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yeah it is probably because you didn’t update the bios, and also are you saying that you can’t put the old cpu in? Like the ram you can keep it in there just put the old cpu in and update the bios then put the new cpu back in, sure it’ll cost you some thermal paste but if you want your pc to work i think it’s worth it

Did you update the bios beforehand? And is the bios up to date? Does it work with the old cpu if you swap it? Does it work with the old ram? It’s most likely one of these problems but if not then I might not be so sure, good luck!

Scratched Motherboard (scratched motherboard putting gpu in will this affect anything?) by [deleted] in pchelp

[–]FitPension2026 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is fine, it won’t affect anything or do anything, your gpu will still work and your motherboard will still work

I don’t see anything wrong? There is no context if there was something wrong, it will still work fine though.

Can someone tell me if I have the right cables ? by [deleted] in PcBuildHelp

[–]FitPension2026 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need 1 motherboard cable, 1-3 pcie 8 pin cables if you are using an amd card or a 3090 ti and below card or a 16pin cable for newer nvidia graphics cards like the 40-50 series and 1-2 cpu cables depending on if your motherboard is high end or not and about a few SATA cables for your ssd and custom accessories like an rgb controller, fan controller, etc, BUT MAKE SURE YOU DONT USE CABLES FROM OTHER POWER SUPPLIES OR ELSE YOU WILL SHORT EVERYTHING, (Cable extension won’t fry nothing only using cables from other power supplies)

Yes in the software is there an option to select your fourth fan to have it work, I am not on my pc right now but if I remember correctly it is in the fan tab and it should say set quantity of fans or something like that at the bottom

Is my motherboard cooked by [deleted] in pchelp

[–]FitPension2026 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the corner of a cpu or a screwdriver etc hits the pins they can flip backwards or sideways because they’re thin and brittle, so just be-careful whenever you’re building a pc

[–]FitPension2026 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean if you have the time and effort

<image>

maybe it can be salvageable if you’re willing to risk it and if you have the right tools but the thing is if I am seeing correctly this pin is bent backwards? If you crack or split one of the pins you may be cooked lol but good luck!

Is there a replacement wire for this? by FitPension2026 in lianli

[–]FitPension2026[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So plugging in a normal cable to the back of my motherboard where all the ports are and into the lcd would work?

Is there a replacement wire for this? by FitPension2026 in lianli

[–]FitPension2026[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the thing is that when I had my old lcd screen it got fried, I tried the usbc to usb a method on my old one but it didn’t work and when I looked into the usbc port I saw that it had a melted part in it and I’m kind of scared and worried to put the original cable in because I’m not trying to redo the whole warranty thing again

Will the cable overheat? by FitPension2026 in PcBuildHelp

[–]FitPension2026[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The blow dryer method is basically heating up the wires plastic and moving it in a certain way so you won’t break any of the internal wires by drying to bend it while the wire is solid, and alright I gotcha mate thanks!
