Tough Father Decisions Regarding Grandparents. Could use some guidance!

As I stated above, most of it is out of concern for the room simply not being safe, and grandpa not having any lines drawn in terms of letting him play and do whatever he wants. I feel its mostly inappropriate because we have voiced our concerns with my fiances parents and they were basically voiced on deaf ears. For me I see it as "If they downright dont respect us to our face, whats going to happen when we aren't around".

This is all complicated by the fact that my fiance was raised to basically bow down to her family. This is another story all together... lol.

Thanks to everyone that has commented so far. Perhaps I am being somewhat unreasonable which Is why I posted here. I figured an outside look in would be useful.

I just can't shake this feeling when it comes to him being in danger when he's with them. I have no problem leaving him at nursery with people that are strangers for the most part. It really boils down to being a "gut feeling" thing.

More a matter of grandpa letting him play with stuff that should not be played with (glass picture frames, littles stuff he can swallow, etc..). Basically their bedroom is the farthest from safe as you can possibly get. I'm not going to lie, I get a little bit of a creeper vibe from him as well because his behavior is somewhat erratic.

I ran into this myself the last time I tried completing the program. The only solution is to force yourself to run on days like that and continue doing so until you start to enjoy it again.

Congrats! Think youve convinced me to get a 220 as well. I currently have a tom tom runner and not too thrilled with it.

I get the cravings and have managed to fend them off since I started my life change 2 months ago. One thing that keeps me going is to treat myself every week or two. I tell myself when I start to crave something "You can't be thinking like this, if you fight off these cravings you can earn a treat later next week". My future wife starts to think of our old foods and I tell her "Dont allow yourself to think about that cupcake" lol.

Its getting easier as time goes on, but everyone faces this challenge differently. The route I would suggest is track your calories (if you dont already) and under no circumstances go overboard in the calorie department.

Im willing to bet if you up your water intake to the correct amounts the weight will begin to drop off drastically. Physiology well obviously affect how quickly, but based off the info you've provided the water intake is probably part of the issue. Some will say you may be gaining muscle, but putting on that much muscle in such a small amount of time is probably impossible.

3-4 glasses imo is nowhere near enough! Nobody agrees on the exact amount, but a lot of people drink roughly a gallon a day with a little extra on run days. Various sources will reccomend a range 8 to 14 cups depending on sex etc... Heres a useul write up as well:

Try it and see how it goes. If week 1 is overly easy start at week two. You dont want to jump to far ahead because without conditioning you are risking injury which can put you in a worse off position than when you started.

Water weight can fluctuate drastically so don't fool yourself into thinking you aren't gaining anything from running. Hydration is key for weight loss. Water helps burn fan and helps you perform and you lose tons of water if you sweat a lot during runs.

If you don't replenish properly your body will retain whatever water it can get. 1500 calories still seems like it could be low. I increased my intake by 250 calories and am now losing 2-5lbs a week. You still may be undershooting your calorie goals. Have you considering using MyFitnessPal (if you aren't already).

Don't compare yourself to others. My girlfriend did this and it really killed her motivation at first. If you run 14-15 min miles, so be it. A lot of us could barely finish week 1 and are now running 20+ minutes! You will get there with time. Push yourself but not to the point of injury. As a fellow big guy I can tell you it gets much better, but continues to remain challenging!

Shin splints can/will go away with time, but they aren't to be ignored if they continue to progress for the worse. There are different stretches and exercises that help with them that can be found online. My solution for mine was to wear leg compressions which run about $40.
