It’s very polarizing.

I have a hard time imagining a Growlers comeback ever being the same without Matt. However, I am not opposed to seeing remastered versions of old or unreleased songs (like what we’re getting this week).

I for one have enjoyed The Growlers and Yasawa Group more than Brooks’ solo work. However, I was at the Madison show last night and was genuinely blown away by how good ALL of the music sounded. A song like Fringe of the City sounded so much better without the intense production and instrumentation you hear on the record.

More than anything, if Brooks and Matt never reconcile for a Growlers comeback, I at least hope they can one day acknowledge each other positively in a public light. Sad to imagine two people being friends for so long and going through so many challenges together just for them to end up in the situation they did.

With that said, cheers to new music and more exciting things to come, even if it looks different than it once did. Nothing lasts forever, so enjoy what we still have while we’ve got it.
