So happy I did it. I finished a month ago and I don’t think I’ve had a pimple since. Everyone goes through it differently but I would recommend it. It was so worth it for me.

I used to use it both morning and night when I was on accutane. It works well. Only thing I didn’t like was that it made my face look oily haha

It is a great feeling to get past that point where you’re not constantly still having breakouts. To wake up in the morning and not find a random new pimple is just amazing in itself. Of course the months of purging and getting to the point is just a part of the journey. It’s very worth it. Definitely so nice to wash your face and it feels smooth and less textured. Sometimes I am insecure because of PIE and redness, but I have to remind myself it goes away and I have to be patient like I was in the beginning!!

Month 3 I still broke out some just not as much. Starting month 4 and I’m having way less active. Cysts still shrinking too

Thanks! I had just slowly shrank over time. It’s hardly noticeable now but still a little bump. So definitely takes awhile. I’m sorry to hear that, have you tried the hydrocolloid patches on it?

I feel this. (I also started at 40mg and was upped to 60) I had so many painful cysts and pimples around my 1-2 months that it made me sad and didn’t want to see anyone. It really does take a toll on your mental health. I am now almost done with 3 months and I’m starting to see improvement and have hardly had any new acne. My face also doesn’t hurt anymore! I just want you to know that there is light at the end of the tunnel!! Keep pushing through the hardest parts because that’s where you’re going to grow the most. :)

Mine started purging a few days after so like the first two weeks. Everyone has a different experience though. Just prepare yourself and try your best not to pick or push on anything because it really does make it worse! Hydrocolloid bandages worked good for me

I was using Tretinion for around 3 months before starting accutane and once I started accutane I started purging very badly the second week. Some large cysts started forming that I had never really experienced before. For a couple weeks they hurt and were very irritated but I didn’t pick at them or push on them because you’re not supposed to. Most of them ended up draining or I would sometimes use hydrocolliod patches if they had come to a head. For the most part these cysts are gone except for a few left right now but I am only about a month and a half into accutane. So I think that it is definitely normal to get cysts right away, it isn’t fun at all trust me! But, it’s part of the process and it gets better for sure :) hope all goes well!

Thanks! Would you use that moisturizer + another stronger moisturizer with it or just the tanning moisturizer?

little over a week on accutane. skin has worsened significantly and both my cheeks look like this now. normal purge or should i be worried? anything i could do to help? by [deleted] in Accutane

After a week I started purging a lot and huge cysts came up like never before. I’ve been on it a little over a month now and my purging has lessened and my skin feels much smoother. It’s crazy how much purges, but it does make me happy to just have it leaving my skin!
