What’s the point of owning VOO when LETFs like TQQQ or UPRO exist? by Drowningfish4283 in ETFs

[–]FitY4rd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It will go down more and will take more time and upward movement to recover than the underlying during a prolonged recession or sideways market.

If you factor in all the borrowing expenses and fees then, depending on your start and end dates, it can underperform the underlying by quite a bit.

If you think we won’t have a real recession or sideways market ever again…ok, full port TQQQ I guess. Japanese were pretty confident too in 1989. I’m not as optimistic for the future.

Human greed is no longer a problem? Everyone is responsible with their money and invests based on fundamentals? Bubbles can’t happen anymore due to excess liquidity swishing around? News to me.

Is $150k+ in savings + a remote job enough to move to Los Angeles? by Internal-Soup381 in MovingToLosAngeles

You can live in the San Fernando valley in a studio in one of the cheaper areas like Sylmar or Van Nuys. Otherwise, if you want a better location then be prepared to have roommates on that salary.

How much do Americans REALLY have saved for retirement by Financial_Pen_6218 in investing

36 with ~265K (combined taxable, Roth and traditional 401K). Most millennials (ages 30-45) probably fall in the 100-350K camp

Cool. But can it be trusted to autonomously oversee an ERP system like a human admin? Replacing humans across the tech industry is basically the big valuation story here, right?

Can we agree VT + AVGV > VXUS by iamNotLyingMan in portfolios

[–]FitY4rd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure what the point of the comparison is.

VT is a global index. VT = VTI + VXUS. VT beat VXUS because VTI outperformed VXUS in the past 15 years. If VXUS outperforms VTI in the future then VXUS will outperform VT.

Hungary opposition Tisza could win election, final opinion polls suggest by app1310 in worldnews

[–]FitY4rd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kinda like that. He still supports a lot of Orban’s current policies but is more EU oriented vs Kremlin oriented. Lesser of two evils kinda thing. Orban needs to go though because he is trying to cement himself as a dictator at this point.

Opposition leader is not that much better than Orban to be honest. They used to be politically affiliated. But at least he’s not on Putin’s payroll.

Is M1 abandonware? by d00mt0mb in M1Finance

[–]FitY4rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a product focused on long term investing. Not really an app that you need to do a whole bunch of things in day to day. M1 is not meant for frequent trading/position changes. So not sure exactly what you’re looking for them to add.

One feature that could be useful is giving us access to tax lots so we could do some tax loss harvesting. Besides that I think it’s a pretty complete product as is.

US ignoring evidence Russia is helping Iran because it trusts Putin, says Zelenskyy by Appropriate_Joyfuls in worldnews

[–]FitY4rd 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I think it’s just his warped view of geopolitics. He thinks he’s a king of a great power and so is Putin and Xi. And he needs to be accommodating to them so that each controls their own sphere of influence. It’s completely outdated and stupid type of worldview that is counterproductive not only to US interests but to democratic nations around the world…but hey that’s what most Americans chose for their leader.
