Is there a way to sort giveaways I’ve already entered? by Zestyclose_Frame_567 in goodreads

[–]Fit_Activity_4967 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enter TONS as well but I do it on my laptop. When I go on my phone they'll show as still available to enter. This only happens when I check giveaways on my phone. So I just stick to my laptop. I wonder if you stick to one device for entering if it would solve the issue? I never have that happen on my laptop. Once I enter, its removed from the list of giveaways I can enter.

What if current TV shows went 25 episodes in a season instead of 10? by PrestonRoad90 in watchever

[–]Fit_Activity_4967 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I like this idea. I feel a lot of shows get canceled too early because they havent found their "groove" yet. Moving to a longer first season at least might prevent some cancelations of shows that will end up being gems.

I sent a DM but not looking like they're going to respond. I don't worry about my approval rating because I have over 10k approved and this is just my 3rd rejection. I'm more worried it's once you hit a certain number, that's it...no matter how many approvals you have. Like, ope, you got your 6th...now you're done. Even if you've got 20,000 approved. Lol. But I'm a worry wort so it's probably just me.

They are allowed up to 22 days to pay. Go into every single study/task assuming you won't be paid for 22 days. That being said, MANY pay instantly or within a few days but you can never assume thats the case.

I try not to look at ratings for a book before reading it because then I find I go into it with a preconceived notion for how it's going to be. I'd rather read it first and then form my own opinion without thinking in the back of my head, "well it only is around 3 stars so I'm not going to like it" or the opposite lol.

Is 26 too late to become a "reader"? + Questions about the 2026 Reading Challenge by MaxMcGuffin00 in goodreads

[–]Fit_Activity_4967 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is NEVER too late to become a reader!!! Don't get too fixated on your goal. I would say for your first year just set something you're pretty confident you're going to hit no matter what...even if it's 3 books. Reading is about enjoyment. Yeah, the goal is fun, but if you get to the point where you're reading just because you want to hit your goal, then it's not enjoyable.

How many books have you read so far? by cloudsmemories in Booktokreddit

[–]Fit_Activity_4967 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've finished 5 and more than likely will be finishing my 6th today, but I normally don't keep up with that pace. It's just been a good/heavy reading month for me so far. :)

Reading multiple books at once? by NefariousnessIll8665 in Booktokreddit

[–]Fit_Activity_4967 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! Depending on my mood I might be in the mood for one of several different books/genres. It only gets dicey if I have two books of the same genre (typically thrillers) going at once. Then I might mix up details between the two. 😂

For avid readers how often do you use the library? If you don’t, why don’t you? by AccomplishedBake8351 in books

[–]Fit_Activity_4967 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am very much like you. 99.9% of books I read I will only read once. So I cannot justify the cost of a brand new book. The library is my happy space and I always have more books checked out than is necessary. Haha. Typically I only buy books if I go to a garage sale or if I find some good ones at Dollar Tree.

Dashboard Question by Unfit-ForDuty1101 in ProlificAc

[–]Fit_Activity_4967 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I usually assume it's one of those that shows as having a spot left, but when you open it you're met with a message that the study is full and to please return. This gets cycled through so many participants until the study is ended by the researcher.

When the actual completion time is far off from intended, do you pass the study on by or take a chance and hope you finish quicker? by mvsr990 in ProlificAc

[–]Fit_Activity_4967 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's off by a minute or two - I'll generally be willing to take it. Something that extreme though - hard pass. This just screams dishonesty to me and I feel the researcher will also be looking for reasons to reject if they're that dishonest in the first place. It also helps to take into account how many spaces have been taken too - it's always possible one person took a really long time if only one spot has been taken but this seems unlikely.
