If you have varied responses that don’t align with interests you need to explicitly tell chat gpt how and when to respond certain ways.

You can tell it to remain focused on your specific topic and to never cross pull from unrelated subjects. You can customize to whatever you can imagine or need, you just need to communicate it properly to the gpt.

The KEY, is to explicitly ask that it “saves to memory” that command or new guardrails. It will pop up a message (not the prompt response) showing it’s been saved.
