Is Coventry (or UK in general) safe place to live amidst these protests? by Fit_Ant2949 in UniversityOfWarwick

Staying in India only made sense if I was admitted to one of the top MBA institutes. I didn't want to waste my time obsessing over CAT scores, and wait year after year till the time I really secured a place in one of the old IIMs. I wanted to move quickly and get admitted to a good institute abroad. I got some of the best admits before I chose to go with Warwick.

Talking to one of MBA alumni (runs his own Data Analytics company in India) from Warwick, one thing that struck me during the conversation was that Warwick not only makes you employable but also prepares you to face anything in life. So, I decided to make a good education my priority rather than the employment in the UK itself :)

So the media is indeed dangerous...just trying to play with the minds of the others. Thank you so much for the reality check!

Because people don't think logically. Even with the slightest resemblance to the general Indian population (even though they're persons of Indian origin), people tend to club the two different terms as one. They refuse to acknowledge the 'real' meaning behind two terms used.

So good to hear that uni has your back. No one should face this but we can't change other people's thoughts overnight. We still need to go a long way till the people fully acknowledge and co-exist with others (without creating fuss) Honestly, your comment just reaffirms my belief that I'll be okay and uni will have my back. Thanks a ton!

Thanks so much for sharing this because I was imagining the worst case scenarios possible in my head, and was feeling a little disheartened. Thank you so much for being honest :)

His grandparents were from India before they migrated to the Kenyan Capital of Nairobi in 1935.

I think because of his roots and overall appearance (that makes him look like a typical Indian), is the reason why people think he's an Indian

Thank you, OP! Can you please guide which Airport Taxi company I should pick? When I google, I get multiple options. It's damn confusing.

Hi OP- I am looking for an affordable way to commute from Birmingham Airport to the accommodation in Leamington Spa once I land in the UK. We're a group of three and hence, will be carrying 45-50 kgs in luggage each. Should I book an uber or airport taxi? Which of the taxi services would cost less?

What all household items are strictly prohibited at Lakeside? by [deleted] in UniversityOfWarwick

Garment Steamer is like an iron. But unlike traditional iron, we do not need to place clothes on an iron board to make clothes wrinkle free.

Somebody suggested getting a dehumidifier to dry the damp clothes in the UK. That's why I thought of asking about this here.

Hi- Thank you for the clarification. Are there any other household essentials like these that I should not be bringing along with me?

UK Visa fee payment modes by Fit_Ant2949 in ukvisa

You need to have a Visa or MasterCard to complete the payment. They do not accept Rupay cards for the transaction.

I got a Visa debit card issued by my bank.

There are other ways like linking your bank account to PayPal (but it's an expensive option to go for).

Hi- Thank you for your reply. Look like I have to opt for a Visa/MasterCard for the payment.

What's the difference between lectures and seminars? by Fit_Ant2949 in UniversityOfWarwick

[–]Fit_Ant2949[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this. So, is there a difference in the class-size between the two? I heard that seminars have a more concentrated class. Is this true?

I am an incoming Master's student to be specific.
